Great finds in your own home
« on: May 27, 2006, 06:50 PM »
Ever been going through your house and discovered stuff you forgot you had?  Just a few minutes ago I was cleaning out a closet, and what did I find?

10 carded VOTC Stormtroopers
2 carded Clone Evolution Sets
6 carded ROTS #41 Clones

I had totally forgotten about these, I remember putting them away for a time when I wanted to open them.  Really happy because lately I've been trying to find some VOTC Stormies, now I can stop.   :D

Whoo - Hooo!

I thought this might be a fun topic... anyone have any similar "hidden treasures" you had forgotten about?

 :)

Sheesh good finds Chewie. I found a carded removable arm E2 Anakin in my closet a a few months ago. And a cloud car pilot under my bed. Kind of sucky hidden treasure compared to the 22 troops you found...

I found $5 in the laundry. That's easily the best I've done.

How could you forget about 10 VOTC Stormtroopers? ;)

Hey, at least $20 is better then the old sticky gum wrappers I always mysteriously find in my washed jeans.

i found an un marked box in my parents greage when i was home for a visit last august. i was looking for an old pair of snowboard bindings, the box was clearly to big to be bindings but i opened it non the less because it was in my pile in the corner and there where right around 35-40 MOC starwars figure, mixed, episode 1, shaddows of the empire, saga attack of the clones, etc..... buti had totaly forgotten all about that box. it was a great surprise and it feed my custom fooder greatly!

now even though there where 35 or more figures MOC in that box, i have tosay that CHEWIE, your 10 votc stormies and evo sets still is a better find! cool topic....

I've never had a figure finding experience like that, but I did once lose an open bottle of soda in my apartment.

I too have a hidden treasure tale-

I began shopping in earnest in 1995. Soon I had exceeded my storage capacity in my designated star wars room. But it had a suspended ceiling, so put I some boxes up there, putting boards across the grid to prevent anything from falling through a tile. In some places I had to push stuff way back, and couldn't really see it.

I was re-routing the cable a few months ago, and found a Jabbas palace Lego set, along with the two small ones (Carbo Han and Fett, C-3PO R2 and the door). They had fallen behind the ductwork, and I probably never would have found them if I hadn't been doing the cable.

But I would trade them for the VOTC find, no doubt.

I found a CW SA Clone under my bed when I was moving out of my apartment a year or so ago. I've kept it MOC since then.  :)

Most of the stuff out on display in my bookshelf wouldn't even be "Good finds" ;)

But, I did find a few things a month or two ago that I'd long misplaced- a Weequay Skiff Guard, Tie Fighter Pilot, Tusken Raider, Stormtrooper, and Garindan, all POTF2 green cards, all unopened on bent/warped cards. All are now opened and in use, with the cards stashed away.

Yeah, I know, it's totally awesome, huh? ;)

95% of my stuff is in storage and I also catalog everything that comes in so I have little to no treasures to find unfortunately though I did find a lame ass Ep1 Jar Jar soap thing a few years ago that completely bewildered me.
