Adding Articulation?
« on: June 12, 2006, 12:24 PM »
Does anyone have a good turtorial about making elbow and/or knee articulation to figures that don't currently have articulation there?  I want to actually MAKE the articulation, not just cut off a knee cap of another figure and put it on mine, or something like that.

Thanks!

For swivel joints, sure it's easy with a dremel.  Just drill two holes, one on each end of a limb after you slice the limb in half (preferably sliced at an angle).  Glue in a custom made peg on one end, let it dry and then snap the two halves together, and if it's tight enough, you have a good sturdy swivel joint.  But for a ball-joint, I've never tried to make my own.

There are several tutorials over at FFURG.com .  That's a great place to start.

Yeah, I tried going through FFURG's, but I gotta say, without the pics, I just cant really 'get' what they are saying here.  Pics make it SOOO much better.

Rolla, I agree with you on this. I've read through several of their tutorials and sometimes its really hard to get it.  Thats why I like Glassman's tutorials as he has pictures, pictures, pictures....
