I found a pair of these at TRU today, passed on it at Target last year and still passed on it at TRU.  I just don't want to spend $45 for this.

I may not be able to hold out much longer though.

I'm not sure if there's still a debate, but this time, unlike with Target, the TRU version is the better OTC pilot.

There must something wrong with the 2 TRU's I went to over the weekend then because they both had the TIE's and they both had the old POTF2 version with the newer sculpt blaster.  If there's a version out there with the OTC fig inside I'll be waiting to find those before getting the ones I saw over the weekend.

To me dude, that sounds like someone pulled the old switcharoo by buying the TIE's, switching the figures, and returning them.  It hardly seems worth the effort to me, but I think someone did it.

No switcheroo, the POTF2 pilots are shipping with the smaller blaster.

Well, Rebelscum is reporting there's a variation with a different number stamp on the box as well, here's a pic they provided as well:

I didn't realize that was actually news...  I've seen both versions in person at the same store myself.  Since I'd seen it discussed prior to my even seeing it, I didn't realize we were needing photographic evidence to lock it down.   :-\

I bought the item the same day the news spread. I have been driving around all over with this thing in my back seat waiting to be exchanged. I want the saga pilot dammit. I refuse to have that 90's relic pilot. I wish I looked, figures the one time I go to TRU and find what I am looking for I dont bother to look. ???

I broke down and got one.  It's really pretty sweet, I definatley like the color better that the blueish one, and this one seems to have a sort of wash that really helps bring out the details.  All in all, a littley pricey, but I need a TIE fighter at some point.

Does it bother anyone else that this thing is almost as big as their AT-AT?

Hasbro has a terrible scale problem in their vehicles.  Holy geez.

C'mon, it's not feasible ($$ and space wise) to do a "scale" toy AT-AT!

I would have to sell most of my collection to be able to buy and display a scale AT-AT.

Tell that to the collectors that pay $500 or so for the high end Star Wars collectibles like Master Replica or whatever they are.

I got space, and I got money for it, right now.  Bring it.

At least do better than what they're doing.  Twice the size, at least.

OK, it's not feasible for Hasbro to do it.  Which means you won't see it because they have the master toy license.

They are still a lot of e-tailers sitting on MR AT-AT's if that means anything...

Well, I can tell you that this collector isn't buying Hasbro's poorly-scaled overpriced exclusive bull**** anymore, and I haven't been for years.

Get me a vehicle that wasn't selling for $20 in the stores that I had as a 3 year old in 1980, and I might be a little more willing to buy it.

These things are absolutely piling up to the rafters in my TRU right now, so I know I'm not alone.

It was acceptable in 1980 when they first put it out, it started looking bad in the late 90's next to the newer figures, and now it looks downright ridiculous.

Although it may not be feasible build a full scale At-At, I'd still blow my away if they tried. I've always thought that it can be sold in sections/play-sets. Sell the Head and the body separately, each a functioning play-set, and then mail away for the legs.
