I thought of that ..and so they make 1 cham droid large and sell only 1 in a pack and you have alot of folks pissed that they pay for 3 figs and a large droid compared to the senate exclusive 4 figs and a large pod. This is why I think there will be 2 droids so you're still keeping with that magical 5 piece number and standard price too. 8)

Let's see, so far every Battle Pack we've seen has been composed of either 4 figures and an extra piece (Senate Pod) -or- 5 basic figures.

I'm not sure why everyone is thinking this one is just going to have 4 pieces?  Is the Droid really that big?

I mean, the Senate pod was big but we still got 4 figures along with it, right?  ???

I agree, Jeff, I was just thinking the same thing. However..if it somehow turned out that the set did only have 4 pieces alot of folks would be pissed at Hasbro again for a new reason --but they would still buy stuff from them--including me ::).

I wish that it has two as well but I doubt it.  I guess I am not a optimist. :-\

However, comparing it to the Senate BP (repaints/repacks and a pod) is unfair even in Hasbro's eyes.  This set has two new figures (assuming that R2 and 3PO are repacks-pretty safe assumption there).  These are new molds and questionable as their arituclation may be, they are still new.  So the rules on production cost and what not are not the same for the Senate BP and this one.  Also many of the recent BPs (or upcoming) feature several repacks with the rest being rehashes or repaints.

Objectively I just do not see Hasbro being that nice.  But if it has 2 droids then I will buy 2 BPs.  Otherwise I stick to the one.

I understand what you are saying here but the math is pretty funny.  If it has 2 droids then I'll buy 2 BPs ( = 4 droids).  Otherwise I stick to one (= 1 droid).

Like I said, I understand what you are saying but it did make me laugh thinking about the irony.

who else thinks that the two droids could EASILY have been replaced with a new bariss sculpt despite the lower amount of characters in the bp. i do.

What you are saying is true, but the Droid is  anew sculpt which means it cost more to make. If i remember correctly the senate pod was the only "new thing" in that set. This one has the droid and Padme. So i still think it's only one.

From this week's Hasbro Q&A at JediDefender:

Quote
2. Early catalog images of the "Ambush at Ilum" battle pack appeared this week thanks to an e-tailer (so I'm sure you'll see this question asked by someone else). Will this set come with one or two of the new droids pictured on the packaging?

** It will come with two: one "solid" and one partially transparent.

Sweetness.  Hopefully they do a Ilum Yoda.  Somebody has to take those droids down.   :)
