I would have prefered an animated version but this will do.

I think at one point Hasbro stated the animated versions weren't being done any more because the realistic versions were preferred by collectors.  Like you, I'd prefer the animated version because they seem to do faces better in the animated fashion, for obvious reasons.

At the same time, I remain baffled by the 'animated is less desired' standpoint.  Most of the Clone Wars figures we have are animated.  The recent Toyfare that had these as a guide an issue or two ago only showed the animated versions.  I found that particularly humourous considering there was a big thanks to Rebelscum and Curto in association with it.  Hasbro says no to animated yet Toyfare/RS put together a guide totally ignoring the non-animated 3.75" figures.  Somebody's signals are pretty screwed up.

I hope these are animated as well. The caricture style of figure works well, and is a break from the norm. Just give us 2 or 3 new ones, even if the use recycled parts. I thought the Saesee Tiin figure from the 3 pack worked well, even though it was just an Obi Wan body with a new head and paint.

I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum...  I really prefer the realistic sculpts overall.  I appreciate the animated figures but they, to me, are a wholely separate line akin to Unleashed or some such...

So for my tastes I loved the CW toon and I would've like realistic sculpts that actually accurately represented the characters in the cartoon...  IE: the costumes didn't look like road warrior Jedi knights and things, as we got in the main CW line.  So for me I'm stuck on hoping for non-animated, I just really hope that they're not subpar non-animated figures like we got in the battlepacks or a number of the basic CW line figures.   :-\

Yeah, realistic is the way to go.
If they do cartoon sculpts they are offshots of the bulk of our collections. (Unless you strictly collect animated). You cannot expand on that collection like you can the mainstream realistic stuff.

They already confimred realistic so I am very happy about that. But thats me....

Here's what we'll get:
Yoda (POTF 2 re-pack)
Padme Amidala (AOTC re-hash)
C-3PO (AOTC Basic Line re-pack)
R2-D2 (ROTS re-pack)
Clone Trooper (Pink  ::) )

If the Padme is SA & it has a 3PO that's a TSC Diety re-paint I'll buy it! Even if it dosen't have 3PO (Yes, I'm going over board with Diety 3PO re-paints on my lists, but I love that figure!)

Too bad, well atleast we're getting a new Padme. Hasbro dosen't seem to like her or Leia.

Hasbro likes to make Padme and Leia figures. It just that Hasbro thinks they wouldn't be a sell to kids, I know when I was about 9 years old I cared less for Leia (She sucked by the way), I wanted Vader, Luke, Han. When you are older and an collector. You want more Padme and Leias and less of Vader, Luke, Han.

I'm glad to see something new and substantial in this set.

I don't need another R2 and 3PO, but I'll still gladly buy this one for Padme and the other droid(s).    :)
