30AC McQuarrie/Concept Figures
« on: June 24, 2006, 02:09 PM »
This probably was the most exciting thing in the latest Scum new report/rumor list

Of course it all started when we got a McQuarrie Stormtrooper as FC #4

Here's some McQuarrie concept art

Vader vs Luke

Luke (as a girl), Han, Chewie, R2 and 3PO

C-3PO and R2

Sure hope we get all of these eventually

I'd also like a Concept Fett like this (and Concept Lando in the background there)

I think this line that hasbro is thinking of making is too cool. I have always like the concept art and know we have the chance to have a figure on some. Just too awesome.

I'm hot for any McQuarrie/Johnston figures.  These guys are the direct link from Lucas' imagination and the screen.  The thing is, most modern EU doesn't feel right to me.  It's too macho and too influenced by other comics and never seems "real."  SW has a very tough and specific style, and most EU doesn't get it.

But any figures made  from production art from the 1970s is all right with me.

I've always loved how that concept Lando is wearing what became Leia's gown.

Lol. I got a good chuckle out of that. Never knew a transvestite could be so good with the ladies...

Would be very cool if they released that concept Luke vs. Vader as a set.
I remember my dream now.

I've been thinking about these concept figures. I really like the idea, but at the same time, they seem kind of special in the sense that they're a part of the mythology of the creation of SW. I'm not sure if I like the idea of getting so many in one year. It seems like these should be reserved for a once a year special release or something.

It isn't a McQuarrie concept, but I would LOVE to get an action figure of General Grievous (as the child in the floating chair flanked by IG-88-style droids) from the Art of ROTS.   :)

And on the Joe Johnston and Ralph McQuarrie front, let's have a Jabba with Fez!  ;D

I will be grateful for the re-release of the Stormtrooper alone.  I think I saw two of these at retail.  Hopefully can find a half dozen this time around.  Aftermarket prices of these things are crazy right now.

That's my favorite Fett design, OCB.  I too hope for that one if they are running with this concept stuff.

Chewbacca was one of my top Concept wants...  that's practically a new character. :)  There's some great stuff.  I like EU stuff, and concept stuff is cool too...  If this is how Hasbro gets their feet wet with EU though, that's fine by me.  The concept stormie was great so these others could be fantastic.
