I'm interested in seeing what the rest of these look like. So far I like what they've done and I think it'd be cool if Hasbro did more of these for 08. I am a fan of the concept stuff and I enjoyed looking at Joe, Ralph and Nilo's work growing up. I think it's cool that they're giving the concept stuff a nod for the 30th anni. Hopefully, the Rebel tropper that's coming up will be pilot.

Man, looking at the first 3 waves, it really looks like Hasbro is limiting the concept figures...

McQuarrie Stormtrooper:
- 1x per case in Wave 1, Revision 0
- 1x per case in Wave 1, Revision 1
- 1x per case in Wave 2, Revision 1

McQuarrie Fett:
- 2x per case in Wave 2, Revision 0
- 1x per case in Wave 2, Revision 1

McQuarrie Chewbacca:
- 1x per case in Wave 3, Revision 0
- 1x per case in Wave 3, Revision 1

I wonder if they think they won't sell as well, with them being EU/concept figures and all?

Granted, things can (and often do) change when they start pumping out filler cases later this summer, but given what we've seen so far with those first 6 case assortments, it's not looking like we're going to see the Concept figures in huge numbers

For comparison, take a look at the Galactic Marine and Airborne Clones numbers through those same 6 case assortments...

Galactic Marine:
- 2x per case in Wave 1, Revision 0
- 2x per case in Wave 1, Revision 1
- 1x per case in Wave 2, Revision 1
- 2x per case in Wave 3, Revision 0
- 2x per case in Wave 3, Revision 1

Airborne Clone:
- 2x per case in Wave 1, Revision 0
- 2x per case in Wave 1, Revision 1
- 1x per case in Wave 2, Revision 1
- 1x per case in Wave 3, Revision 0
- 2x per case in Wave 3, Revision 1

It definitely looks like Hasbro knows the Army Builders are out there as there are tons of those two compared to the Concept figures...

What I object to is them putting Prequel Stuff (army builder or not) in OT cases.  I can't buy a case of OT figures without getting PT crap in it.

Dare I say...they got Chocolate in my Peanut Butter?

If they are going to stuff Army Builders in Cases make it more relevant to the Era...Put Stormtroopers, Rebel Guards and Death Star Troopers in the cases of OT stuff.

Or like you suggested, pad the boxes with Concept stuff...

Sooo...Luke Exclusive is the Luke from the Vader Battle.  I had always assumed Basic Luke would be that LUke...which means.  Basic Luke must actually be...GIRL LUKE!

I'm hoping you're right, I'd love "Girl Luke" in order to complete that scene there.  We already know about the droids and Chewie, since Han and Luke are rumored for the basic figure line, I hope we get the versions in that pic as the basic figures.  :)

After a lot of internal debate about the McQuarrie series, I've decided not to get any after all (more for you guys!).  I'm too anal about scene accuracy to put them loose in diorama scenes, and I'm not really nostalgic for these designs since I don't recall seeing the art they're based on until probably the 90's.  I remember reading once years back that these designs are basically rejected designs, so if I feel like appreciating his art I'll probably look at the art  :P

If we got girl Luke, wouldn't that confuse the "core" audience of toy buyers that Hasbro likes to market the star wars brand to? The 5-10 year old boys.

I can't wait for the concept rebel trooper. I can't wait for it to be far and away superior to our current normal offering and imagine Jesse James' head exploding as I read his rants on how much Hasbro sucks. :D

I love complete boobs  ;D

But seriously, I've seen that pic with the Han/Obi being the same person concept, but I don't think I've ever seen any other concept art of Han.  Are there any other possibilities of what concept art we'd get of Han as a figure?  Also as to the confusion of Concept Luke being a girl to H's core audience 0f 5-10 year olds they'd probably also be confused as to why Concept Han is a Jedi.

The "other" Luke might be the one from the classic Cantina painting.  He's dressed a bit like Han, and has goggles and is very ready to fight.

They could explain that on the card back. All these figures are confusing then aren't they?

Jeff, your post a few weeks back is dismal, to say the least.

The McQuarrie concepts are so iconic (at least to collectors), that I'm surprised that aren't more heavily weighted in current/future assortments.  Quite honestly, I'm only interested in the McQ figures this year because they are so unique (and the cardbacks kick ass).

Here's to Hasbro's dropping of the ball...on the coolest figures this year.
