I'm pretty excited for this as well, if these rumors end up being true.  I really like the McQuarrie concepts from the OT, and its kind of a neat display to set up with these if they keep releasing figures.  I hope they make all the ones Scott listed above - Chewie, Vader, and the droids would be pretty neat in particular.

I've forgot to mention a couple of times this weekend that they did those 5 or 6 Concept figures from TPM in the POTJ line (Tattooed Maul, Sith Jacket Maul, Jedi Training Jinn and Kenobi and Snowbi-Wan) and those were some cool figures.  The mini McQuarrie rigs from POTFS sucked ass though so hopefully they do better this time.  I wouldn't mind seeing them continue peppering the line for a while now

The only fear is that they won't be real big sellers

I also cannot understand why McQuarrie Vader isn't the first one they do

I am soooo excited about this news. The Sketchbook and Art of Books were huge influences on me growing up. My design background started with Ralph, Joe and Nilo's Artwork. One of the first SW books I remeber owning was the ESB Sketchbook when I was 8. I loved the concept art in the Topps Card sets too....
So far We've had:

Qui-Gon Jinn (Jedi Traning Gear)
Darth Maul (Training Gear)
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Training)
Darth Maul (Sith Apprentice)
#03/34 - McQuarrie Concept Stormtrooper
Expanded Universe Cloud Car w/Pilot
Expanded Universe Airspeeder w/Pilot
Expanded Universe Speeder Bike w/Pilot
E3 Clone Concepts
Target Clone
Deluxe Aerial Clonetrooper
Deluxe Clone 3 pack -red standing
Deluxe Clone 3 pack -green
Deluxe Clone 3 pack -blue
I'm not sure if the following were considered concepts based on Art or 'From the Mind of Hasbro'
Red Commander
Green Commander
Black Clone Pilot

I can't wait to add more to this Line....
"Modern Collectors are just Walmart Shoppers" -The new SW "Fan Club" President

They are right, everything is big in Texas, even the defeats...The Buckeyes are (still) #1!!!!!!!!

I've never been a huge Fett fan, but I'm excited about the white-armor version--I'll either call him a new clone commander and put him in charge of some clonetrooper grunts, or call him a Mandalorian general and give him some battle droids to order around.

As for the concept stormie, I'll make him an elite stormtrooper guard/commander and toss him in with my various Red Guards, SOTE Coruscant Guards, EU Imperial Sentinel, etc.

I love a lot of the concept art from both trilogies, so I'd love to see more figures and vehicles made.

Yeah, looks like it.  I was always a big fan of this "all-white concept" look after seeing it for the first time in "The Art of TESB."

The Concept Boba Fett is going to be a Johnston design however, so that picture posted in this thread is a McQuarrie design and, therefore, won't be used. Unless, of course, the picture is Johnston's, but I don't think it is.

I was thinking similarly shawn, but hopefully that is the Fett we're getting, or that Johnston and McQuarrie's designs pulled from each other perhaps, and we'd be getting that by default.

The final Fett design is credited to Johnston.  McQuarrie's initial designs of Fett's helmet were not as refined.

I speculate what we see in the picture of the thread is Johnston's design in McQuarrie's artwork?  Looking at the book, both were working on Fett's look at the same time and maybe collaborating on the final look.

If anyone out there has the book, what is your opinion on this?  Funny how I have credited McQuarrie for Fett's look all these years.

Yeah, I'm definitely hoping for that Boba Fett with the poncho, and since there doesn't seem to be too many "full body" shots of Johnston's Boba Fett (at least I couldn't find any), hopefully McQuarrie's is what we're getting.

I personally hope the Stormtrooper gets new legs with articulated knees.

That would be great Chewie but I smell a re-hash coming since the first one is so hard to get. Hasbro will leverage the tool. Hopefully they will paint him with more detail. I was unimpressed the first time around.

Either way they do it, if it's more abundant I think it's a good thing.  I want to make a custom squad of troopers from that figure so bad.

I bet they pack the conceptfigures & Holiday Fett, 1 per case. While the Yuzzhan Vong is 3 per case & warms. :-\
