Found a Variant Reggie Bush. Anybody wanna trade for a Snowy Base Polamalu?

I'll keep an eye out for Polamalu, anything else you're looking for besides SPs?

I picked up Alexander NFL 14 today, Steve Smith, and both variants of Gates, after getting LJ, Gates, and Bush last week. The only one I didn't want is Polamalu since it's from Hasselbeck/Polamalu 2 pack, and I guess I'm done with NFL till next year when we're in Week 4 of the season and Legends are starting to hit  :P

Oh, by the way, hands down the best wave of NFL McFarlane figures ever.  Even though the LJ is a Jamal Lewis reincarnate, the superstar caliber of players and predominantly new sculpts is just super.

I just cracked a case of NFL14 at a TRU before they closed.  Looks like they're going a little lighter on the variants than they have in the past.  This is what I found in said NFL14 case:

3 x Reggie Bush
1 x Steve Smith
1 x Antonio Gates
1 x Antonio Gates variant
2 x Larry Johnson
2 x Shaun Alexander
2 x Troy Polamalu

I bought a Reggie Bush and the Gates variant.  I'm gonna pace myself on some of the other pieces in the series.  But I'm surprised to see a defensive player packed at more than one per case.  Especially since there was already a Polamalu in the Super Bowl boxed set.

Found NBA 11 today at TRU.  Here's my thoughts and what I bought:

Carmelo Anthony - great likeness, good pose, bought it.

Chauncey Billups - again great likeness, nice pose, bought it.

Ron Artest - Very disappointed.  The one I found had a horrible paint application and the hair was really bad and not the same as it looks on mcfarlane.com, instead it was bushy and looked really awful.  Black paint was smeared all over his forehead.  I'm hoping I just found a poor example and that the next one I find looks better.  Passed.

Wally Sczerbiak - no interest whatsoever, but looks okay.  Passed.

Kobe Bryant - Poor likeness and poor sculpt, too short and stocky for Kobe and looks nothing like him in the face either.  Big pass here.  They muffed up the likeness on Kobe as bad as they did on Dwyane Wade.

Joe Johnson -  Nice pose, good likeness, but just passed for now cuz I'm not a fan of his.  I may buy it eventually.

I also bought a second Panthers Steve Smith for customizing, I intend to drill a hole in his foot and stand him up catching the ball, in addition to the one I have displayed of him lying down catching the ball.  I'll post pics when I get around to doing it.

After reviewing the 2003 Kobe Bryant figure, vs. the 2006 Kobe Bryant figure, the only conclusion I can come to is that the sculptor and quality control supervisor had 20/20 vision in '03, but were fired and visually impaired replacements were hired to take their place.  Observe:

2003 - looks like Kobe

2006 - who the hell is this supposed to be?

Kobe 2 or Kobe 3 are probably the best likeness of him.  Kobe 4 looks like Martin Lawerence.

That'd pretty much cover it if he just looked a little goofier in the face.  The body is perfect.

Just out of curiosity, in lieu of a Wil Smith Bad Boys counterpart, why'd you buy the figure anyway?

Cracked open a case of NBA 11 last night. No variants just the Steve Francis "surprise" figure.

I came across the same thing at my local TRU on Monday...

Two reasons; 1) I buy all NBA SPs.  Yes I know, there are only 10 NBA collectors out there.  2) He's a Laker.

I got to crack open another case of NFL 14 tonight.  What did I find?  Well, a whole bunch of regulars, but I also came across a snow base Troy Polamalu and a throwback Bucs jersey Derrick Brooks.  I didn't even know that the Brooks figure was being done until I saw it in the case.  Now if I can only find a Saints Brees and Colts Vinatieri!  ;D
