I'm in regardless as well.

I'd start the conversation by saying that we should try to expand the scoring categories if it's possible and reasonable to do so.

Even if all we can do is change up the value of a goal vs. an assist vs. a win vs. a shutout.

Stat Categories: G, A, +/-, PIM, W, L, SHO

I'll tinker with stats categories as discussions go here.  I upped the points for shutouts, added -1 for losses and there is only one goalie slot.  Added a utility slot (can play C/RW/LW/D) and a forward slot (C/RW/LW).  PIM is in but can be dropped or the value upped or lowered.  I'm not a fan of making a goal worth more than an assist.  There are plenty of other scoring categories in there as well that we can add - short handed, power play, game winning, etc.  Have a look and we'll edit as the group sees fit.

G = 1 point
A = 1 point
+/- = +1 or -1 point
PIM = 0.2 pts per
W = 2 points
L = -1 point
SO = 4 points?

Quick note: they aren't letting me modify the stats modifiers (i.e. points per whatever) at the moment but it's up there so in time it will happen.

Fine by me.

Scoring looks fine as is to me, maybe we could add +1 for SHGs and GWGs?

Did we do away with a bench spot or two, in addition to the goalie, and that's why we have the Forward and Ultility spots? It seems that 12 skaters and a Goalie are too many. Maybe we could do away with the forward spot but keep the utility?

It's mostly from the discussion at the end of the last season.  I'd played in another league with both and it worked fine, though I'll readily admit the talent was getting awfully thin.

We lost a bench spot (previously 5) but gained an IR (previously 1) and did away with a goalie slot.

I also upped the games per position to 90 following much of last year's lamenting from multiple sources.  It seemed a pretty consistent comment from a number of sources and much aggravation to me.  So I pushed it from 82 to 90.  It's not much, but then again I still don't see the need, so it's a concession on my part.  You can't play your star more than 82 games in the real league so I'm not sure why it applies here.  But like I said, more than one person's opinion was to have it that way.

We can add SHG, GWG and more if you like.  They're sort of wild card points in my mind because you never really know who will pot those goals.  You'd think it would be the stars but it's not necessarily the case.

We can also do partial points in those categories if you like.  At least I think you can because you can manipulate PIM a lot.

Currently I have the live draft set for Friday, September 15th at 10:30 CST.

Yes, it sucks.  I don't know if the yahoo system is that bunged up, that full or if they haven't opened up all the slots yet, but that is the latest date I can get that actually has an evening slot.  Everything else is during the daytime and that's not real good for me or probably others.  I can probably get an earlier date at a different time and on a different day, but I doubt that's desirable.

As hard as it is to believe, the season is only a month and a couple of days away.  I'm not opposed to a forum draft either, but I'd suggest we start that around the 20th of September or so as well, so I have some time to enter the results.

I must confess though, I'm a much bigger fan of the live drafts now than the forum drafts, if only from a commissioner point of view.

Also no one is signed up yet, other than yours truly. ;)

I'll have to clear the date with the Mrs. (:-[), but I think that should work for me...

I guess no one else really needs to sign up given we went 1-2 in the league.  :P

I went #3 and I'm in.  Weekends are tough for me as far as the draft goes...  Not because I'm a party animal, but because I keep getting forced to leave town on short notice lately...  if it's all there is, I'll try to be there though.

It really is.  It's the latest day with an evening time slot.  Anything after that the latest I can get is 5 PM :-\

I'm not opposed to pushing it earlier, but that date is only two weeks away.  I'll check for earlier that week times.
