Star Wars and Earth

Ok, if you've ever seen Star Trek, you know that all of this takes place in the future as related to Earth, and it plays a pretty big role in the Star Trek universe

My question, does Earth exist in one form or another in the Star Wars universe?

Well, sure, many galaxies distant, in some sort of primordial form, the Earth exists.

I don't know how comfortable I'd be with an Earth-Star Wars link beyond that. Maybe something off-the-wall like the same aliens that settled Mars (and then later moved here, of course ;)) turn out to be some distant descendants of the New Republic or something...

I doubt it.  I wouldn't want Earth and the Star Wars universe to ever mingle with each other.  I like things just the way they are.

I would have to agree. It would seem kind of odd to have a link.

One thing that is unique to the Star Wars Saga, is that there is no link to earth, past, present or future, is there any other films that are like this? because I can't think of any!

If Earth were connected to Star Wars in any way....I'd be done with the whole saga. It would ruin it for me.

The NJO nearly did that. Thankfully it only really effected EU material.

Earth is conected! The Opening Scroll States that Star Wars Takes place a "Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away... " So Eath does exist in the Star Wars Univers, a least as a point of Time and Location Reference. That is what makes Star Wars a Modern Myth.
