I'm a Cowboys fan, I have no horse in this race anymore.  I just don't want to see the Giants win.

So who is seeing Red Tails this friday?

Going Saturday.  A WWII movie will always get me to buy a ticket.

The family and I are going to see Red Tails on Saturday. I am a sucker for any movie with a B-17G or F. The media blitz even has my teenage daughter excited to see it.

Watched Haywire Friday night.  I really liked it.  Thought it had a decent story, the action was really well done and Carano did a good job for someone with not experience.  Unfortunately, doesn't look like anyone gave it a chance.

Saw Red Tails.... This was the reason Lucas is going to retire. Good movie, visually stunning. Core story that could be overwhelming, and weak dialogue.(AKA every movie he has made in the last 20 years) My wife and kids loved it, and all I could think of the entire time is how cool it would be to have a Rougue Squadron movie, which this was with WWII era planes instead of Star wars vehicles.
This really made me pine for the 90's Lucasfilm Secret Weapons of the Lufftwaffe game. I logged in enough flight time on that game to fly any of the craft for real. I am wondering if anything is in the works for a re-release or remake of that game. One of the best I ever played.

I saw a preview for something called John Carter being put out by Disney it looks to be a blatant rip off of Avatar and Attack of the Clones mushed together

It's based on some really old-ass books - "John Carter or Mars" - so it's probably the case where Avatar and AOTC were rip-offs of the source material for John Carter.

You can pretty much think of John Carter as Tarzan on Mars. It does look like fun though.

Yeah...but does that mean you have to make it?  I guess it is sort of par for the course as far as Disney goes...the Arena scenes I saw in the trailer are seriously right out of AOTC...

John Carter, Warlord of Mars predates all of that crap by at least a generation.

It was also a comic book in the 70's which was COMPLETELY AWESOME.

Maybe Disney will ruin it, but there is no denying the STRONG GEEK-FU of the original source material.

So how was Red Tails? It seems to have did ok at the box office considering it was up against Underworld. It's pretty much shotdown as far box office is concerned right now. Was it any good? I hear the movie was boyz in the hood meets WWII. Pretty bad movie once you get pass the hype.

"They could turn on a dime, too, as if piloting Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon at warp speed in one of Lucas’s “Star Wars” episodes."

From that article....almost, almost had the reference right but then he screwed it up.

The sad part about that article is that the movie partially sucks because Actor A & B starred in this show as a killer, another as a druggie, this one swore. Man, if we weighed all films and things by that standard "Thomas the Train" would be rated R due to George Carlin's narrating.

Well if you listen to George Carlin's narration of "Thomas the Train" from a certain point of view it could be rated R. ;)
