Pretty cool looking. I like the Tom Cruise Oblivion trailer as well, though I'm getting really sick of Morgan Freeman in every thing. Next thing you know he'll be in Episode VII.

Hey now, don't disrespect Morgan Freeman.  He built the Batmobile for Chrissakes.

What's with all the desroyed future Earths movies?  Saw trailers last night for Oblivion, After Earth, The Host and there might even have been one more.

Don't get me wrong, they all looked kind of interesting, but that seems to be the theme of next year's films.

Didn't you get the memo? The Mantoid invasion with the help of the Negative Annunaki Collective has been postponed a week. Fortunately my son will be out in the desert next weekend with his scout troop having rifle practice. He should be good to go against the aliens or at least zombies.

I believe 12/21 is the "official" end date.   ;)

I for one will be severely pissed about missing all these cool movies if the world really does end next week.  I won't even have a chance to see that silly Hobbit movie before then.

So, aside from the Hobbit likely moving into the Top 10 (or higher), it looks like the top 10 movies of the year will shake out like this:

1. The Avengers
2. The Dark Knight Rises
3. Hunger Games
4. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2
5. Skyfall
6. The Amazing Spider-Man
7. Brave
8. Ted
9. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted
10. The Lorax

I would think that the Hobbit would make it as high as maybe 5/6, but it all depends how it holds for a bit now.  Anyways, out of those ten, I think I've seen 8 so far, and hope to see the other two eventually via rentals.  What were your favorites of the year?

I liked all the comic book stuff that was out this year really.  As a huge Spidey fan I was happy to see him up on the big screen again, and although the movie wasn't perfect, I did really like the cast and look forward to the sequels.  Overall though, I don't think anything beat the Avengers for me.  I can already tell it is one of those movies I'll never get tired of watching, and is mostly perfect in my eyes.  I also really enjoyed the Hobbit, Dark Knight Rises, as well as things like Wreck It Ralph, Brave, and the Hunger Games.

Took the kids to see Wreckit Ralph yesterday, enjoyed it immensely
Some great little cameos from older video games ;)

Recently I've been going back and watching some older movies on youtube and netflix.

I just watched one called Starchaser: The Legend of Orin from 1985. It's an animated Star Wars ripoff. Set on the subterranean Mine-World, a band of human worker are treated like slaves under the power of the evil overlord Zygon until one, Orin, unearths the hilt of a mythical sword that only he can master. Escaping the planet, he runs into the rogue smuggler Dagg and a pair of helpful droids and the princess, who all team up to return to the Mine-World with a plan to defeat Zygon and free Orin's enslaved people.

It was good movie and well animated.

Saw Zero Dark Thirty Tonight with the wife...solid effort, strong performance by Miss Chastain. My favorite parts though were the supporting roles played by Andy from Parks and Recreation and Pete from The League. Nice to see those guys beefing up their resumes.

Saw Warm Bodies last night.  Liked it a lot.  Nice warm up for the return of The Walking Dead (though tonally, they couldn't be more different).
