Saw Whiplash last night.  Absolutely loved it.  I'm not a jazz fan in any way, but the music was excellent.  Knowing that Miles Teller was actually playing made it that much more enjoyable.  And J.K. Simmons played such a detestable person I will never look at a Farmers Insurance commercial the same way again!

One thing that always blows my mind is they find the sweetest bases for rat rods in the apocalypse, and I couldn't find one right now if I went out looking for it.  :)

Just caught the new trailers for Ant Man and Genisys earlier...

Ant Man looks good. I see a lot of people ragging on it online, mainly for being "another origin story." but what can you do? Marvel has a good track record, and expectations aren't nearly as high as they will be for Ultron and Civil War.

Genisys though... I don't think I've ever seen a trailer spoil the plot like that one. What a joke, and makes me even LESS excited/inclined to see it.

Yeah... I watched it and was kinda stunned that they dropped a big plot twist spoiler right smack dab in the middle...  makes you wonder how ****** the movie is tracking for them to basically lay it all out in the preview like that.

I'll catch it on HBO/Netflix in a few years I guess...

I  don't see really anything new in Genisys. It looks like a lot of plot points from the first two movies. I guess someday I will see it but I won't be paying for it.

Caught Mad Max last night... definitely the best one and visually it's one of the best I've seen. I can see it winning multiple Oscars for costume design, cinematography, sound editing, directing, editing, makeup, production design, score, screenplay. It is that strong on all levels.

Honestly Max/Tom Hardy doesn't talk a whole hell of a lot and I think Charlize Theron/Furiosa takes center stage.

The movie is nihilistic, creepy, loud and fast-paced and the story is pretty straight forward with a satisfying climax. I saw it in RealD 3D and that added quite a bit to the experience as I'm not a fan of 3D in general. There is so much thrown at the screen though that its almost a requirement to watch it in that format.

Definitely catch it in theaters as some of the scale of the battles would be diminished in a smaller format.

Fury Road was a fun ride!  I enjoyed it more then the new Avengers movie that's for sure.

I thought Mad Max was great ridiculous spectacle.  I can't assign the dept to it that a lot of people seem to be.  But I've never seen better giant vehicle set pieces.

Has anyone here caught Tomorrowland? I have to admit that with the director of Iron Giant and the Incredibles involved (Brad Bird), I have high hopes. Hoping to catch it sometime in the next couple of weeks.

We took the kids to Tomorrowland on Sunday.

The boys loved it.  Jet Packs, special effects, smart/funny kids, some Star Wars props, robots, spaceships - all fun stuff for kids.  They all seemed to have a good time

As for me, well, I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either.  It was a good movie for a rainy Sunday, but probably not the kind of movie I'll watch again on DVD or cable or whatever.

(not quite the ringing endorsement you were probably hoping for, Brian :()
