We to see Burn After Reading last night. I think the critics are getting it wrong, it's a very fun, very warped movie.

The Cinerama Dome is playing the restored prints of The Godfather and The GodFather II all this week. I saw the first one last night. Looked perfect. I'm seeing the second one tonight.

Empire Magazine has used a combination of reader input, "Hollywood's finest", and film critics to produce a list of the 500 Greatest Movies of All Time.  A few key entries (in the top 100, haven't gotten through others yet) are Raiders of the Lost Ark at #2, The Empire Strikes Back at #3, Star Wars (A New Hope) at #22, LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring at #24, LOTR: The Return of the King at #34, E.T. at #47, LOTR: The Two Towers at #54, and Return of the Jedi at #91.

There are other favorites from the forums on the list, but I didn't want to list them all here (other related movies are Temple of Doom at #233, The Last Crusade at #306, Revenge of the Sith at #330, The Phantom Menace at #449, and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at 453).  Also, the Godfather was #1.

I'm not sure about their ordering but there is some fantastic movies there.

Evil Dead 2 got #49. Go Bruce! I wonder what number the first Toxic Avenger movie got?  ;)

Yeah, there is definitely some interesting choices and ordering, but like you said, a lot of great movies on there.  Its always nice to see movies like Goonies and Ghostbusters recognized, since they normally aren't on lists like this. :)

Some flicks I have seen recently:

Batman: The Dark Knight: Just wow!  8)
Iron Man: Awesome.  8)
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Entertaining.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army: Good popcorn flick.
The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor: Good popcorn flick.
Hancock. I liked this flick.  ;D
The X-Files: I Want To Believe. I want to get my money back!
Tropic Thunder: What a hoot, funny flick.  :D
Death Race: This was entertaining, great races & very brutal.

Good list. I agree on all counts. :)

My wife and I saw An American Carol today.

You did?

$5 mil in eight days

It was hilarious!

It was?

13% fresh at Rotten Tomatoes

Consensus: An American Carol suffers not so much from its perceived political bias, but from the fact that it simply is not very funny.

But I think that's a little misleading.  How could a movie starring Chris Farley's less-talented, and less-funny younger brother, and featuring a cameo from Bill O'Reilly be anything but hilarious?

Good god, another remake. Surely they can't be serious, they are serious... and don't call me Shirley!  :P

Let's ruin another classic flick.  ::)

'Forbidden Planet,' remixed

That one's been in development for quite a while. It's usually a bad sign.
