Jupiter Ascending moved to Feb 2015

They're claiming they need to "finish the effects," but typically when a movie is switched from a summer release to a February release, it means it's awful.  The trailers looked pretty, but other than that they never did anything for me.

Seems like the Wachowskis really only had one good movie in them.

It was originally scheduled to come out the week after Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and two weeks before Guardians of the Galaxy, both of which will do huge business. It stood no chance, and probably still won't in February for the reasons Bill gave.

I saw Edge of Tomorrow this evening with my wife. Not a "amazing" movie - but still a fun sci-fi popcorn flick.

While it is definitely like the Sci-fi/Starship Troppers version of Groundhog Day - the concept behind WHY he keeps repeating the same day is pretty cool - definitely helped me enjoy it a bit more than I thought I would going in.

Plus they kill Tom Cruise over and over again. What's not to like?

Every movie has a downside.

Surprised nobody mentioned the Mad Max: Fury Road trailer...  I watched it, and wow...  Looked pretty damn good.  No Mel Gibson feels odd though.

I just don't have the nostalgia for Mad Max a lot of people must have.  I only saw Thunderdome when I was young.  I watched the others more recently, and found them to be pretty goofy.  So people making a big deal of the re-make is kinda strange to me.

Same with me Bill. I remember seeing Thunderdome in the theaters and enjoying it but never saw the other two movies probably because they were rated R and I was just a little kid. I've seen them since and they are ok b-movies. They feel a little slow as you wait for more car chases. This movie could reintroduce Max to a new generation that never saw the originals. People would probably complain there are no zombies in it.

I had older brothers and the Road Warrior movies were kind of a big deal then but I was young so the storyline was lost on me.  It's kinda funny you guys were introduced to it with the Phantom Menace of the series, haha.  I liked them as a kid...  Many Legos made recreating it. :)

New one is interesting looking.  I always wanted more backstory though.  None of the movies gave enough detail.  Prequals would be interesting I think.

Sounds like Ghostbusters is finally getting the reboot treatment with an all female cast:

I would love to see Melissa McCarthy in this.  I think she'd be a riot.

Anyone see Interstellar this weekend?  Went to an IMAX showing today and thoroughly enjoyed it...especially the sights and sounds.  I see some of the nits people are picking but I got my money's worth.  I'll give it a solid 8 out of 10 with 10 being the highest.
