Been a busy few weeks...finally carved out time to see Pacific Rim Uprising. I loved the first one but went in with pretty low expectations this time around, based on early buzz, some of the casting choices, etc. But I thought it was actually surprisingly pretty good. I guess my main complaint is it took awhile to get going, but I thought the overall plot was very clever and I liked a lot of the story avenues they explored. (at least the ones not involving human characters)

Now I feel pretty good about buying more toys too.  ;D

I had the same experience. Went in with pretty low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised by it, especially in terms of the direction they took the story/plot.

Just had the "pleasure" of seeing Jurassic World 2. Save your money, folks.

Saw Incredibles 2 with the kids the other night.  It was just okay, but then again I had read so many glowing reports I was expecting something more.

We went and saw this on Father’s Day.  The Incredibles is my favorite Pixar movie and I thoroughly enjoyed the sequel.

The first Incredibles was a fantastic movie.  The story alone was great.  And recapturing the magic of that movie had to be a serious challenge, especially 14 years later!

I really liked The Incredibles 2, and so did my kid.  And I really appreciate how Pixar manages to make these movies work on multiple levels so that parents and kids can both enjoy themselves.

Saw The Incredibles 2 on the holiday. Pretty good, kind of hard to really form an objective opinion though because my daughter was sobbing for about 90% of the movie due to that ****** up animated short Bao they showed beforehand. >:(

What kind of messed up **** was that to show little kids? She was literally traumatized. Pretty much ruined the whole experience. Thanks to all the ******* creators who thought that abomination would be entertaining.

My favorite part of seeing Incredibles 2 was the collective audible *gasp* the audience made during the climax of Bao.  Then, in dead silence in the theater, a little kid screamed out "She [*spoiler*] him!" followed by immediate bawling.  Messed up indeed.

(Traumatized kids aside, I kinda liked the short though  :-X)

The denouement of the short made it pretty cool.  Up to that point it was more WTF?

Oh come on. It's not like they showed scenes from House of a Thousand Corpses before the movie. It was cleaver and a little screwed up. I remember seeing Coco and they showed a preview of A Quite Place before the movie. Now that was screwed up.

My understanding is it's a cultural misunderstanding. Now whether it's fair to expect a 7 year old to understand that is maybe the real question

That cultural flap is nonsense, IMO. Any parent will get the gist of that short.

Took the kids to see The Lego Movie 2 yesterday.  Really well done, but be warned, there’s a song that’s going to get stuck inside your head!

Saw the Lego Movie 2 also. I noticed this is the second animated movie (after Wreck it Ralph 2) wherein the villain is the manifested insecurities of the male protagonist. When did manhood become toxic?
