I hope they make a better Padme, I'm not a big fan of the "no arm" look.  Anyone know of anything like that for 2006?

I'm not a big fan of the "no arm" look, either, which is probably why I don't own any of those first AOTC busts.

I'm sure we'll see a new Padme in the future, especially now that GG is starting to focus on ROTS.

By the way, the Emperor bust is supposed to be released March, 2006.

Here's a comparison to the Emperor Bust-Up due this month (Series 4):

Incidentally, I received my notification of credit card being charged for the next two sandtrooper busts, so they should be arriving shortly 8)

Not sure if I'll pick up the Palpatine bust.  I'm very strongly tending towards OT only these days.

Same guys I got my Vader statue from.  Decent enough service and good prices too.

I feel the same way, which is why although the bust looks nice, it's an easy "no" for me.  The Vader I'm treating as OT since I don't have the first one.  Other then that, it's picking and choosing these things.  Once Vader and Yoda hit, the only ones I really want (assuming they make them) are Chewie, a Tie pilot, and maybe a royal guard.

The Emperor is now officially up at GG's site:

http://www.gentlegiantltd.com/catalog/?id=WEB6271

"Despite his disfigurement, Palpatine appeared before the Galactic Senate, and gave a stirring speech of how he narrowly escaped a treacherous Jedi rebellion. He assured the people of the Republic that his resolve had not faltered. He had routed out the treachery that had entangled the Republic in the Clone Wars. He would flense the corruption from the bloated bureaucracy that strangled the august government and reform it, as a new, more powerful, more secure institution. That day, before thunderous applause, Palpatine declared himself Emperor. "

The Emperor is slated for April 2006!

I haven't bought any of these since Mace, Padme and Obi-Wan from EII. This one I'll grab for sure!

I'm passing on the Vader bust.  I agree with Drew with respect to Vader being an easy "OT" replacement.  I decided that since I have the statue, I'll pass on this bust as well.  Given the production run it has, I'm not too worried about changing my mind later.

In other news, received an email from Talesofwonder.com that my sandtrooper two pack has been shipped, UPS tracking number present and accounted for 8)

Just came back from a local comic shop, and much to my surprise my Yoda bust is in.  I didn't pick it up yet, but did take a look at it.  The one thing that surprised me (though in retrospect it shouldn't have) is the size.  The thing is really small.  I guess it's the correct proportions for Yoda relative to the other busts, but considering the price is the same it was a bit of a letdown.  Other then that though, the bust seems to be really nice.  Looking forward to picking it up.

You have to appreciate what Gentle Giant is doing from a collector's standpoint.  I think they realize the quagmire they've caused with such low production quantity limited edition pieces.  They also have to realize that they're not making ANY of that secondary market money.  So they might as well triple or quintuple the production runs.  At least the collectors are going to be able to get these pieces at a reasonable price.

As long as they keep making them I am not too concerned on how many of each they make.  They better they (Gentle Giant, not the secondary resellers) do in sales, the longer this line will last.

I was talking to a friend and the day that Gentle Giant stops with Star Wars I will be so depressed.
