First Planes and now this... what's with Pixar mailing in the spin-offs that nobody wanted? (Although I'm excited for Monsters University)

What Disney wants, Disney gets.  Nemo is the second-highest grossing Pixar film (and the highest adjusted for inflation).  It makes sense for them to produce a sequel.

Surprisingly Cars never did all that well, and it still spawned two sequels.  I'm guessing it costs a lot less to animate those, though.  And Planes was intended to be direct-to-video, until it tested really well.

I just wish they'd do a sequel to Incredibles.  That's the one I actually want!

Global box office stats for Pixar:

1    Toy Story 3    $1,063.2
2    Finding Nemo    $880.6
3    Up             $731.3
4    The Incredibles    $631.4
5    Ratatouille        $623.7
6    Cars 2        $559.9
7    Brave        $535.4
8    Monsters, Inc.    $528.8
9    WALL-E        $521.3
10    Toy Story 2    $485.0
11    Cars            $462.0
12    A Bug's Life    $363.4
13    Toy Story       $362.0

You and me both!  That was a perfect movie to set up multiple sequels, or even a TV series.  It took several years to get a Nemo sequel, so maybe we just need to be patient for an Incredibles 2.

That happened to Toy Story 2. It was suppose to be a direct-to-video release but it tested so well they released it.

Count me in.  The Incredibles is by far my favorite Pixar movie with Toy Story a close second.

Isn't Cars a merchandising juggernaut though? Any excuse to sell a toy.

I don't know that the long-ish break between movies is a big deal for Pixar.  There was quite a gap between Toy Story 2 and 3, as well as the Monsters movies.  My daughter was pretty psyched to hear about another Nemo movie, and we're looking forward to Monsters U this summer as well.

Also, put me on the Incredibles 2 petition.  Love that movie, and it seemed like the most ripe for a sequel of any of the Pixar franchises.

I really enjoy the Pixar movies, but surprised to see so many liking the Incredibles. It was one of my least favorites.

I don't know if anyone else caught it, but we just watched the Pixar special "Toy Story of TERROR!", and it was really good.  Some nice new toy appearances in there, including Combat Carl (voiced by Carl Weathers) and some other surprises I won't spoil if you haven't seen it yet.  Nice homages to some toys of the 80s in there though ;).

They had it on at the car dealership while I was getting my oil changed and I found myself laughing out loud at times.  Definitely a fun watch if you can catch it on again.

My daughter and I DVRd it and then my wife joined us and we watched it over supper.  Good and funny and of course Pixar provided us with some adult jokes.

Saw Inside Out today. Another Pixar masterpiece. Oozing creativity. Every kid will love it and every parent will love it for a whole separate set of reasons.
