But I'm glad he has a real job now and isn't under the thumb of Wise anymore. I wish him the best for next year.

LOL has anyone else notice the girl KennerBabe posting in the Vintage section at RS?  She is cracking me up.  I'd call her a young lady, but most ladies don't use the C-word in their twitter handles.  Anyhow, it is fun to watch all the activity she's spurring in the section.

I think that's becoming relatively common for 16-year-olds in 2011.   

As soon as she posted I knew it'd turn into flirting and then creepy stuff.  I'm not surprised at all that someone offered her collectibles in exchange for nude photos.

It would be funnier for some guy to offer *his* nude photos to *her* in exchange for collectibles.

I read some of her early posts and was kind of waiting for the creepy to set in.  Last year prior to CV there was a thread where people were loading photos of themselves so there would possibly be some recognition at the show to make it easier for RS members to spot each other or strike up a convo in line somewhere.  There was a young girl that writes for a blog oriented towards female collectors who posted her photo. 

Very good looking.

Took about 10 minutes for the skeevy RS nerds to bomb her PMs with offers of dates and other such stuff.  Needless to say, she scrapped her photo and without looking her up, I don't think I've seen her post as much recently, at least not in the boards I frequent.

I have followed this whole unfolding saga with some amusement, myself. She seems to have a pretty good attitude about it, good for her. It's some of the other posters/mods freaking out about it.

I guess you almost have to expect stuff like that, given that it's the internet, and it's that site. Frankly, I don't think you would see that at most of the other fan sites, because they tend to be more close-knit communities with more self-policing, and well, generally more cool people.

For whatever reason, RS just seems like a prick-magnet. I've been spending more time over there the past few months because they're the only site generating any quality store reports anymore, but it always feels like cyber-slumming.

What was Del Ray so good at this year?  I suppose you can't ALWAYS give it to Gentle Giant (even when Sideshow clearly actually deserves it every year themselves), but yeah...  Weird. 

Me, I'm just going to put a standing order that the "The JD'er" award goes to Sideshow pretty much till someone else proves they can do better.  And if Sideshow is caught in a sex videotape blowing a cabbie or something, then Lego's runner-up.

Couldn't agree more with you Jesse.  Sideshow really blew it out of the park this year.  If we're going Non-Star Wars, there's nothing I'm more jazzed about than Marvel and DC Legos.

Yoda's hut, alone, should win it for SS.

Seriously, it's an ultimate centerpiece if you have Yoda and Bespin Luke to put in it.  It's the kind of thing people who don't give a **** about Star Wars toys would buy and put on their mantle just because they remember Luke and Yoda in that hut, and care about that moment.
