I made it 3 pages into that thread before I had to give up.  There's an awful lot of my-way-or-the-highway stuff, which is understandable.  There's also a lot of no-comment, and "maybe this forum isn't for you."

Phil acknowledges that it's heavy handed... iron fisted seems more accurate to me.

Wouldn't it be similar to when a credit card stuffs a new ToS into your statement?  They did their part in sending it.  Not defending the turd, but...

I guess.... but I wonder if it's different for online entities?  Every time Apple updates a comma in their TOS I have to accept them before being allowed to update an app on my phone.

I'd also like to add, that I've never seen someone come off as more of an internet sycophant as Ian C does in that thread

If that is a serious theory, then I would say it doesn't hold any water.  Yoda and Chewbacca depart ways before Yoda even finds out about the twins...how is he supposed to have told Chewie about them?

I assume Yoda and Obi-Wan communicated over the two decades between ROTS and ANH.  Maybe they relayed ghost messages via Qui-Gon.  After all, it was Yoda who told Obi-Wan "There is another."

To which Obi-Wan replied off-screen "Well DUH!  I was there when she was born."

It is all a lot speculation since Lucas didn't really seem all that concerned with continuity when he made the prequels.  While the Bo'Shek/Kenobi dialogue is all tongue-in-cheek, the Chewbacca stuff just doesn't have a basis.  Until the Clone Wars cartoon, there really wasn't any reason for Chewbacca to even know who Anakin was besides stories on the holonet.  To assume he was concerned about protecting children that he had no reason to know existed is quite a stretch.  To think Yoda is sitting on Degobah, chatting with Qui-Gon saying "This Wookiee I knew once, Chewbacca he was called.  If meet him Obi-wan should, great help he could be." is also quite a stretch.  Qui-Gon in general kind of muddies up the OT.

I recognize that larger sites need to generate income to help keep them running, but I swear to God, every time I go to RS they've found another way to add a pop-up, pop-under or flashing banner to waste my time in navigating to what I'm looking for.

Now, they have a pop-under ad linked to the Forum link on their top menu.  Even TVGuide.com and CNN don't do that anymore and they had pop-unders for years.

I visited them the other day and noticed a pop-up thing that circumvented my pop-up blocker.  I was annoyed to say the least.   >:(
