I'd like to see the Early Bird Chewbacca reissued over either of these, but hey, that's just me.  ;D

These two are worth buying again if only for the uber cool presentation:

Boba Fett

501st

Both are nice figures for $7...well maybe one is.

I remember when ROTS came out I was picking up #41 clones for $4.77.

I think everyone would.

I don't buy all Hasbro's excuses on what tools are available either.  I could be wrong, but I think that's a lame excuse coming from a company with the kind of resources that they have.  I think it's more of a deal where they like to keep the best versions of some figures at a premium in terms of demand and availability for future gains with it.

I only wish we'd get and accurate ROTJ Blaster Rifle for Fett rather than the ESB one he comes with.

Yeah, I have to admit, the cardbacks make several of these figures look pretty spiffy.  I definitely hope to pick up another Fett or two, since I saw the VOTC one once and only once back in 2004.  Hopefully the 501st figure shown is a "mix up", since I think we'd all prefer to see the SA version.  A lot of the other figures don't look too bad, although the entire lineup is still a little ROTS-heavy for my tastes.  Maybe its just the fact that the majority of the ROTS figures included were just released in the "Greatest Battles/H&V" waves last year (or can still be found in many cases).

I hope Habro did screw up with that 501 pic I sold all of my old 501's to upgrade to the #41's. I just ran out to Wal-Mart and picked up 4 appos to rebuild that legion. I may have jumped the shark on that one. The Sandtrooper I can care less about I have enough of that one. I have been waiting for that DarkTrooper looking forward to that.

I am also dissapointed in the Battle Droids. One pic show the ROTS style now they are back at the AOTC ones which suck. I would rather buy one at a time instead of the value 2 pack. Who knows with these pics you cannot relay on them. I was planning on buying a lot of these is they were ROTS style but alas...time will tell. ???

I agree with Nick's choice, since it fits two movies instead of one...  But yeah, we're just stuck I guess.  Easy pass for me, but I don't know many people who really liked that ROTS Chewbacca figure over either Evolutions figure.  I doubt even kids would since it's tough to stand up, and falls apart fairly easily while the VOTC/EB figure is super (friggin' duper) articulated, stands easily, and doesn't have lepracy.

Im just happy that they didnt screw us over with that Cloud City Chewie pegwarming attrocity again, but it'll still be a pass unless they make it VOTC, which is unlikely. I could realy use a VOTC Chewie, I only have the snowy tin set one, and I love it! Its the best Chewie of all time, and one of the best figures of all time.  8)

VOTC or EB should be the way to go from now on.

If they want to do a ROTS one do a VOTC Chewie re-hash with New Head & New Paint, no more useof this crappy "Wookiee Rage!!!" figure.

It sucks that there will be a running change between the crap 501st sculpt & the good one. I'm happy with the Sandtrooper one though.

Might want to qualify your statment. Not everyone goes to Scum for their news.

What Artoo is saying is that scum is reporting that both the 501st trooper and the Sandtrooper shown over at SSG are the ones we're getting... at first. Apprently, there will be a running change to the versions we want later on.   :-\

From what I could gather that Scum reported is this...

501st Trooper is shipping as the AT-TE sculpt, then the SA #41 Clone sculpt, both without battle damage (which makes Appo's kind of neat to mix with them).

The Sandtrooper is apparantly getting 3 versions...  The figure pictured is a sorta dirtier TSC version with a different colored pauldron I guess, then the Evolutions 2nd Version, and the Evolutions 1st version...  What I couldn't gather was the pauldron color.  It seems like a white pauldron might get mixed in there too?  And the Evo figures aren't changing so there's grey and orange, but the TSC with a more dirty paintjob might have a white pauldron.  I can't tell by photos if that's white or just another grey trooper which I could honestly live without at this point...  Grey's cool, but white's been ignored almost completely.

I probably should go look for photo reference first, but just offhand, is it still accepted that there are grey and white pauldrons (in the film, that is)?  I thought the grey had been discounted as dirty white ones.

From SW.com Databank under Sandtroopers

"Sandtroopers wear colored pauldrons as a designation of rank. A stormtrooper sergeant's pauldron is white while an enlisted stormtrooper's pauldron is all black. Squad leaders, who lead units of seven troopers, wear orange shoulder pauldrons."

No mention of gray.

I thought grey got chalked out to some sort of specialists, IE engineers, motorpool, medics, or something like that?

I could be wrong there of course. I also thought orange was the officers... if they are squad leaders then they would in fact be the sergeants, which isn't the case since the white ones are sergeants.
