starwars.com -- New Layout!
« on: June 5, 2003, 10:46 PM »
Check out the official Star Wars website... they've totally changed the look of it!  It only looks like the home page has been revamped, because the other pages within the site are still the same.  What do you think about the new layout?

I think the new design is too busy, too much to look at but I know they like change over there. As far as the 'pay for content' of hyperspace? I hope it fails! >:(
There is absolutely NO reason to make fans 'pay' for information about a movie, what has GL become, a bait and swith porno operator?? Plus do you really think GL is allow any real 'spoiler' material to be posted to give away his 'secrets' like during pre-production of aotc that featured descriptions of Obi-Wan and Jango's fight on Kamino?
And hopefully they'll get the server load balancing levelled out so that all the elements load correctly. :(

I haven’t been there for so long that I missed the change! To be honest, it looks like it’s copying the style of a few of the fan sites It’s just that compared to many fan sites, starwars.com has always been a bit third rate.

As for Hyperspace, well anything good will leak out, and I suspect that there will be cooler material to be found for free elsewhere. Even GL can’t control the whole Internet.

Too busy. The previous design had a very classy feel to it, not so in-your-face infomercialish. This is what I call cornea gumbo.

I like the 1979 design much better.  ;)
Post sober.
