Dale - PM sent!

Scott - What the hell is a be@rbrick?

Be@rbrick
   31. Wicket

Please don't tell me there are more of those... I assumed that it was one of those Kubrick knock offs like the other 3 4-packs that came out a while back.

I kept telling myself "stay away from the Kubrick thread, don't even go read it or look at it, or you'll be tempted again".  Sure enough, I couldn't stay away.  I still haven't picked any of these up yet, but it sure is awfully tempting.  I couldn't ever afford to get into the chases, carded figures, etc. right now, but maybe some of the basics.  And now Jeff had to jump on board as well, and I'm getting in a bandwagony mood now.  I've thought about starting off just getting a Han, to have my favorite character and see these in person, and then go from there.  Anyone around here have an extra they want to get rid of, or recommendations on a good price to pay for one?  From what I have seen on ebay and online stores, the Han figure seems to be pretty reasonable price wise.  Should have stayed away...should have stayed away.....

Hey Brian...I may have one extra Han, I'll have to check and I think I have a Greedo and Sandtrooper too but I'm not totally remembering right now

Be@rbricks are also made by Medicom, they are all bear shaped and painted differently (sort of like the Peanuts on Parade statues, Jeff)  Wicket is the only Star Wars one, I just found out there is a Winnie the Pooh one that I'll probably pick up some day

Huh, I was not aware of the whole be@rbrick movement.  Interesting.  I have been acting under the assumption that the Wicket was a knock-off like the 4-packs.

Speaking of which, do any of you have those Kubrick knock-off sets?  I saw them on ebay last night, looks like a 4-pack from each OT movie and then a 4-pack of clones.

Anyone have them, or are you all Kubrick "purists"?

Loser.   >:(

Don't listen to this clown Jeff, especially if you wanna be in the Kubrick "in-crowd" here...  Scott's our little Kubrick Princess with his devout love for that lameass Bearbrick bull****, but he's the only one.  So if you don't want to fall in with the wrong crowd here, I'd highly suggest you just ignore Scott's antics...

That said, welcome aboard!  Good to have another Kubrick newbie in the house, especially since Adam just bailed on us...   :'(  Now we've just got to go about getting you and Brian all caught up here!

And yeah, I was buying those Kubrick knockoff sets several years before the official Kubrick line was ever announced.  I've got the 3 movie sets, and Carbo Han, but I still need the Death Star Escape set, the Speeder Bike/Biker Scout, and the canned Fett to complete my (OT) collection.  I've got a complete checklist on the first page of this thread, and somewhere in that post is a link to stormie's website, where he's got some good pix of all the knockoff sets.  If you keep your eyes peeled, you should be able to get a pretty good deal on the regular 3 (ANH, ESB, ROTJ).

Another thing, it can be a little tricky, and probably more expensive, if you try to get things one by one, rather than in complete waves all at once.  Unless you can get some good deals for some of the extras these guys around here still have.  But I see the first and second waves go for about $45 - $60 sometimes on the 'Bay.

I better just shut up now, 'cause I can go on forever about these cool little guys.  Anyway welcome to the coolest collecting club on the net!   8)
