Well, I just heard back from my Kubrick Source...

I was quoted a price of $440 plus shipping for a Master Case of Series 4! ::)

It seems like pretty much even seller is uber-greedy this time around with Vader being involved.   :-\  I guess I won't be using him again for my Series 4... >:(

It's off to plan B to try to get a Master Case...  ;)

Is your kubrick source a store, or just someone you know?
This series is HOT HOT HOT, so prices will be high for awhile I think.
Did you check BBTS for a price?

Nevermind. BBTS has them at 110 per box of 12, so $440 bucks plus shipping.

I`ll see if I can find anywhere else for ya

So far, HLJ is the cheapest at 9360 yen (about $83 US / $100 CDN) - unfortunately, there's no shipping cost listed yet, which will obviously be a big factor coming from Japan.

Spanky's a little more at 9828 yen (about $87.50 US / $106 CDN) - again, I'm not sure about shipping.

I would think shipping would be around $20, right?
Maybe a bit lower or a bit higher.
I will probably have an extra Vader and Stormie if that helps you out at all.

I never get chase figures when I order from HLJ. The one time I ordered from BigBadToyStore I got a vinyl Jawa. I think I'll stick with my guns.

I was lucky to get in on the Early Bird pre-order with HLJ. The price per box was 8,892 Yen, $79.24 US - $89.00 CDN on todays conversion so about $317.00 US - $385 CDN on the Master Case.

As for shipping to me, Series 3 was around $44.00 US - $54.00 CDN by SAL (Surface-Land-Air). Then add customs which I think was around $18.00 CDN. Most of it depends on the rate of exchange when my CC is charged.

So are we satisfied on the ratio for Vader?  It sure looks to be the 1:48.

Any thoughts on the pricing currently for the chase figure?  Looks to be set currently at $94-99 US.  Fair?  Not fair?  Looks like a few folks think that price will drop as several have lasted for a chunk of time on the bay.  What's happening over on yahoo?

I still think the price for Han/Luke should come down from the $90 range.

In other news, the latest auction for the Rebo band went at $150+ :o  The damn price is going the wrong way :-\

Most everything I have seen says that in a Master Case you get:

Dagobah Vader = 1/48 (one per Master Case)
and
Stormtrooper Luke = 2/48 (Two per Master Case)
or
Stormtrooper Han = 2/48 (Two per Master Case)

The Stormtrooper Han and Luke seem to be an even spilt, not sure if it is a Hong Kong/Japan difference or not just yet.  As for the eBay prices, since you get either Han OR Luke in a Master Case (and not both in one case), that makes them both 2/96 or 1/48.

For example...

Series 4 Master Case (version 1) has:
15:48 Darth Vader
14:48 Stormtrooper
4:48 Emperor
4:48 Hoth Han
4:48 Bespin Luke
4:48 Nien Nunb
2:48 Stormtrooper Luke
1:48 Dagobah Darth Vader

and Series Master Case (version 2) has:
15:48 Darth Vader
14:48 Stormtrooper
4:48 Emperor
4:48 Hoth Han
4:48 Bespin Luke
4:48 Nien Nunb
2:48 Stormtrooper Han
1:48 Dagobah Darth Vader

So, on average (assuming version 1 and version 2 are equally distributed), the Total for two master cases would be=
30:96 Darth Vader (5:16)
28:96 Stormtrooper (7:24)
8:96 Emperor (1:12)
8:96 Hoth Han (1:12)
8:96 Bespin Luke (1:12)
8:96 Nien Nunb (1:12)
2:96 Stormtrooper Han (1:48)
2:96 Stormtrooper Luke (1:48)
2:96 Dagobah Darth Vader (1:48)

If that holds true (all 3 CHASE = 1/48), I would expect to see Stormie Han and Stormie Luke hang around the $90 range for a while...  :-\

Do we know for sure that the stormtrooper chase (Han or Luke, doesn't matter) is only two per box?  That's a new packing scheme for the good folks that make these things.  I guess I wouldn't expect four either though.

If it is the case, we're looking at about a $350 set, so in this instance a master case sure as hell looks like a smart move.

Since that one seller was around the $300 mark, I'm going to guess that there's more than 2 stormtrooper chase per box.

Well, there was this post:

news for u.. i believe there's a japan/hk variant..

opened a japan master carton..

1st case found 2 luke trooper, 2nd 1 vader/luke, 3rd+4th.. no chases..

no han trooper..

And I also heard the same thing (Stormie Han/Luke = 2 per master case) from my source too...

My master case is at my post office.  They tried to deliver it today and I missed it.   :'(

Tomorrow the ratios will be known.  I realize we have a pretty good idea thanks to yujun and others, but I'm still hoping for some better results.   :-\
