Just to let everyone know, the guy I bought those Kubrick cases from IS refunding almost $20 in shipping.  He seems alright.

Very cool, good to see some honesty on eBay.
I always refund shipping costs if it works out lower too. I use the website
to determine costs to Canada, and when I get to the PO its sometimes 4-5 bucks
cheaper.

I bought my Kubrick Rebo Band off Simon via ebay and he refunded the shipping difference as well.  I didn't leave feedback for him here because it was ebay based, not a trade or sale out of here.  I suppose there's no surprise to anyone that's dealt with Simon before, but he deserves some credit as well for his honesty.  Far and away my best ebay deal ;)

Ebay based, or elsewhere, I think it's perfectly fine to leave folks feedback here, if it was still a transaction between two JD members.  I've done that for my few eBay Kubrick transactions with JD'ers (Simon, Dan, Robert, etc).

Nice score on the Rebo Band though.  Bet you wished you got that opener Droids R2 that I snatched up though, eh?!  :-*

Congrats to MasterJedi666 too, on that great price on Dan's Early Bird set.  I was wondering which lucky JD'er pulled that bargain off...

Who sold that one though Matt?  I've never seen the details, only know that you picked one up really cheap.  But yes, I'm very jealous, I'm dying to find a $50 or less Droids R2.

That would all be moot if Andy Tong wasn't such an ******* >:(

OK, fill in the Kubrickanewbie.  Who's Andy Tong?  Obviously, you're not one of his biggest fans.

Hey Scott,

thx. a lot for your support and bidding!!

but i had difficult days before....so I guess I have to be honest with you.

i could sell the r2-d2 at good price because my japanese vendor could offer me a price for that item...but when i received the items (i ordered six sets from japan) from japan 3 days ago...it was another story, have a look:

teared corner
http://popsalut.timwayhost.com/cgi-bin/damagekub/damage1.jpg

tear mark on the front/back
http://popsalut.timwayhost.com/cgi-bin/damagekub/damage2.jpg
http://popsalut.timwayhost.com/cgi-bin/damagekub/damage3.jpg

damaged seal....
http://popsalut.timwayhost.com/cgi-bin/damagekub/damage4.jpg

damaged seal and tear edge
http://popsalut.timwayhost.com/cgi-bin/damagekub/damage5.jpg

So my Japanese vendor sent me pictures first from ebay so I could sell them first...But when I received the goods from him, it was totally negative....All 6 R2-D2 kub. set have different degree of damage....If you received those items, I am pretty sure that you will want refunds or need substitution.

I had spent 3 days around to order a new batch and to find a good and nice one, but the chance is unlikely.

I hope it won't cause much painful feeling to you and your friend, as I am serious seller I want to make sure I sell A+ grade products...in this case I have to return all my orders to my Japanese vendor.....

Therefore we could hardly to proceed the transaction from this point....Pls. accept my apology from there..You may check that I hadn't sold any kub. from ebay since then......

If you want refunds I could give you rightnow, or if you could wait 2-2.5 weeks, I may still able to get a good R2D2 in good shape, but there is no guarantee, and I will try my best.

Thx. for your time.

Best,

Andy from Hong Kong

Man, I remember I was just a Kubrick lurker back then and I was reading that stuff go down...

http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=3677.msg47908#msg47908

The trouble you guys had pretty much scared me off of collecting Kubricks because I was afraid that this kinda stuff was going to happen to me if I ever got sucked in.

Of course, now that I am sucked in, I did manage to have my own "bad seller" incident - I guess you aren't truly part of the club until someone from overseas screws you!   >:(
