Sideshow Star Wars Diorama Series
« on: February 11, 2007, 12:37 AM »
New line fom Sideshow making it's debut at Toy Fair tomorrow.  Here's the sneak peek at the first one:

Anakin vs. Obi-Wan Diorama

It says they will be in 1:9 scale, which makes them about 7-8", correct?  Makes you wonder if this is why we aren't getting any new Unleashed Figures from Hasbro in 2007...

Cool, I can hardly wait for the classic Vader/Obi battle.  Luke/Vader should be pretty neat too.

I think this will be a mostly PT-based series, won't it?  Besides Vader vs Obi-Wan and Vader vs Luke, how many OT could there be?  The PT is filled with Anakin vs Obi-Wan, Mace vs Jango, Emperor vs Yoda, Dooku vs Anakin, etc etc.

$50 to $350 huh?  I'd imagine the regular two person ones are on the lower pay scale (like Anakin and Obi Wan).  What's going to cost $350?  Palpatine vs. Mace, Kit, Saesee and Agen?  Or maybe since Sideshow has a hard on for Jabba - Luke "vs." Jabba and his goons?

I don't know if I'll buy these or not, I'll wait and see.  The Obi Wan and Anakin does look good, though.

Maybe not...

The little sign at Toy Fair says that the Obi-Anakin set here will cost $280.   :o

Yeah, at nearly $300 with shipping and such, I'm definitely out.

Neat idea, but sideshow is too expensive and large to fit into my collection personally. For those that can get/display them, they should look great-

Yikes.  This thing is nice, but not $280 nice.  Plus, I just don't have the room.

Pass for me.

Agreed, it's a great looking piece, but I'll be passing at that price.  I'm hopeful that the next one will be OT based and maybe I'll consider it.

Oofah that is nice!

I love these and wish I was able to get into this line.  The Ani/Obi one was really iconic and the cave exclusive was neat, but man the Sandtrooper one is just outstanding and drool-worthy.  Any diorama builder should be busting his butt to buy those because they're just perfection really.
