For some reason, this guy just looks too Star Trekish to me... kind of like the Traveller.

Exactly what I was thinking.

That leaves only a handful of truly new and never before attempted figures.  Many of which IMO aren't really all that necessary.  But with the 30th Anniversary coming next year...I wonder if we may two more waves from ESB again and really whittle the list down even further...

Wave 1 (Hoth) (Echo Base BADs)

Luke Skywalker Hoth Resculpt
Princess Leia Hoth Resculpt
Cal Alder
Torryn Farr
Dak Ralter and Wedge Antilles Snowspeeder Resculpt Running Change
R2-D2 Echo Base w/ Antenna
Captain Peitt Resculpt
Obi-Wan Kenobi Spirit

Wave 2 (Bespin)  IG-88B BAD

Luke Skywalker Dagobah/Bespin Hamill Likeness Head :P
Han Solo Bespin
Lieutenant Sheckil
Dengar Resculpt
Bespin Guards (Vintage and Old Guy) Running Change
Wiorkettle
Boba Fett (Evo repack)
Darth Vader (repack)

Who wouldn't scoop up every single one of those figures and pretty complete anything anyone ever wanted from ESB?

Great lineups Scott, I'd be in for those as well.  I was just thinking about this last night while watching some of ESB on Spike.  They are really starting to round on ESB pretty nicely, and if we got the "ultimate" versions of figures like Bespin Han, Hoth Luke, and Hoth Leia - and fill out the waves with the figures you mentioned, that would be about perfect.

ESB 30th Anniversary: What Do You Want to See?
« Reply #38 on: August 12, 2009, 12:15 PM »
With 2010 being the 30th Anniversary of the Empire Strikes Back, it sounds like there should be a fairly significant focus on that movie.  Hasbro even said they have a lot in store, so hopefully that will hold true.  Anyways, with the anniversary on the horizon, what would you like to see made next year?  I think we could/should expect at least two waves of figures, and a few extra surprises.  I was just reading through some of the Q and A's from this last round, and the Imperial Shipyards QnA had a confirmation of a new Taun Taun on the way next year.  Couple that in with the new Snowspeeder, and things are off to a pretty good start to me.  I'm sure there could be some nice battle packs as well, depending on what the makeup of those are going into next year.  Anyways, here's some of what I'd like to see (realistically) - and I'm going to steal Scott's spiffy two wave lineups from the "what's left" ESB thread:

Figures

Wave 1 (Hoth) (Echo Base BADs)

Luke Skywalker Hoth Resculpt
Princess Leia Hoth Resculpt
Cal Alder
Torryn Farr
Dak Ralter and Wedge Antilles Snowspeeder Resculpt Running Change
R2-D2 Echo Base w/ Antenna
Captain Peitt Resculpt
Obi-Wan Kenobi Spirit

Wave 2 (Bespin)  IG-88B BAD

Luke Skywalker Dagobah/Bespin Hamill Likeness Head
Han Solo Bespin
Lieutenant Sheckil
Dengar Resculpt
Bespin Guards (Vintage and Old Guy) Running Change
Wiorkettle
Boba Fett (Evo repack)
Darth Vader (repack)

Vehicles
New Snowspeeder (Basic Starfighter Line Release)
BMF - either a new Slave 1 or a new AT-AT
Exclusive Re-Releases: TIE Bomber, Dagobah X-Wing (although this is still available I think)

Other
All-New Taun Taun
Battle Pack - Assault on Echo Base (Hoth Rebels/Snowtroopers)

Although this wouldn't ever happen, something I would like to see is a re-release/redeco of the vintage Dagobah playset.  There really isn't a place for it in the current line, especially with the apparent failures of the Sarlacc/Lars sets, but I always thought that was a cool set and wouldn't mind seeing it out there again.

I really hope the Tauntaun comes with a SA Hoth Luke and Han

I'd also think they could sneak in the Wampa somewhere

I believe that the Taun Taun will end up has a mail-away offer like the 10th Ann. of TPM with the eopie.  ;)

here is what I think is next years ESB wave.

Princess Leia (Hoth)
Cal Alder
Torryn Farr
Snowspeeder Wedge
Han Solo (Top half Hoth coat, bottom half Bespin Legs) I think Hasbro confirm this.
Snowtrooper Officer

Mail Away - Taun Taun w/ SA Hoth Luke

Vehicles - Snowspeeder, and the Cloud Car  ::)

BMF-  At-At Walker   ;D

I do not see the Taun-Taun being a mail away, if they invest in new tooling Hasbro is not going to give it away for. I see it as a Wal-Mart follow up to the sure fire hit Dewback. (I like the Assortment idea of Han and Luke.) I have enough Hoth Han's though, but I would be able to get rid of one I suppose.

ESB is my favorite SW flick so all of the proposed stuff I would preorder multiples of. A new AT-AT would be sweet! Just slap some legs on the Turbo Tank and you can see what it could be. Han Bespin and Luke Hoth are my most anticipated figure resculpts I am waiting for.

Love Scott's lists except for the R2-D2. Isn't that basically another VOTC R2 rerelease? I'd say drop R2 and put in both Dak and Wedge, rather than do a running change. Love the idea of getting new Snowspeeders and Cloud Cars in the $25 vehicle line, they're both way overdue. How about instead of TRU getting a crappy $50 hut with old POTF2 figures we get a set with a new Wampa, new Tauntaun with a new SA Hoth Luke and a repack Hoth Han? I'd pay $40-50 for that.

I really want Toryn Farr. Oh and that Billy Mays Bespin Guard would be cool. (so long as he comes with special "sniffing" action and an accessory of Oxy Clean!)

Scott, as always great work on keeping track of everything. In the interest of accuracy (to show Hasbro the light) it should be noted that Hobbie has not been made as a Snowspeeder Pilot, but Janson has in the TLC Evolutions Rebel Pilot #1 set. Hobbie was made as an X-Wing pilot in the comic pack (along with the jacked Baron Fel) with the head wrap (inaccurate of course and disappointing as well). Thought you'd want to know.

As an aside, I just noticed that the picture used for the 3rd human Bespin Guard (from the vintage cardback) looks awfully close to Billy Mays. Apparently Oxi-Clean came from Cloud City, who knew...
