...AS mentioned earlier I could be swayed to get the stormtrooper as mine has a yellowish tinge these days...

Glad to hear it.  Serves you right, you boastful bastard.  >:(

still, i'm at the point where i don't know whether or not to wait for the comic shop to get these in or preorder them through MR. the Luke x-wing helmet doesn't appeal to me as much as the Boba or Stormtrooper, so i can always wait to see how they come out.

I guess it would depend on whether MR has announced an edition size for these or not.  If not, then I wouldn't worry all that much.  If they are somewhat limited (less than 2K) then the Luke helmet will sell well, as it did with Riddell, where the degree of difficulty was highest for the Stormie and then about equal for Fett/Luke.  C-3PO and Vader were almost always cheap and easier to find.  I paid about $60 for each of Fett and Luke.

I'm guessing though that there's better than 5000 of each produced.  Wedge's helmet is limited at 1500, so unlimited must mean a fair bit higher.

Geez, can't you be more smug than that?  You'll get pretty much the same damn thing as I bought for less than 1/3 the price even if you pay full retail.

So, I figured I might buy the stormtrooper one after thinking about it all weekend and low and behold...the link for the stormtrooper is the Boba Fett helmet and the Boba Fett link is also for the Boba Fett helmet....

Go figure  :-\

But they are not the same.

I haven't followed the news & pix too closely, but what's the difference between them, Matt?  Other than the MR version is obviously shiny and white, and Brent's precious Riddell version is turning green...?  (heh.)

Has MR tweaked the Riddell molds a bit?  Or just refined the paint jobs a bit?

Perhaps MR's links were incorrect earlier, but they seem to be working now.

Or maybe not.  Sometimes when I click on the X-Wing helmet, I get the Boba Fett helmet page loading.  Bizarre.

The big difference is that one is made by Master Replicas, and the other is made by Riddell, which you apparently do not have.   :o

It's a tough call on that to say if the MR is different from the Riddell.  It might just be the settings on my monitor, but the markings along the side in the picture Jesse posted look blue.  The Riddell markings are grey with no bluish tinge at all.

The Fett and Luke helmets look pretty darn identical.

Are any retailers carrying these aside from MR's store?

Mine seems to be getting whiter now that it's out of storage, though it might be lightening just to spite Colman. :-*

How does shipping compare between the sites ? That may be key in terms of pricing.
