to be clear, then, the preferred design is the 1986 version, which even as a kid I thought looked like an absolute jumbled up mess of dayglo green plastic?

This sticker is dangerous and inconvenient, but I do love Fig Newtons.

I actually like the look of this figure.  And the individual components look really nice on their own as well.

But, except for the colors, the 1986 version is a pretty impressive looking robot in its own right.

Moms will think it is safe enough to bring the kids back out to the movies.

I don't get that.  The trailer looked pretty hardcore IMO.  Last I heard is that this flick is still rated PG-13.   We shall see.   :-\

Yeah, definitely excited to see the season sets coming back.  I'll definitely be grabbing this as well, and I'm hoping they'll do the same thing for G.I. Joe as its movie gets closer to release.  The little 4-5 episode discs that came with the DVD packs are fine, but it would be nice to at least have one season set (or more) as well.

Nice....I think.  I know that Welker voiced Megs in the video game, but I gave up on it so I never got to hear how he sounded 20+ years later.  A nice nod though.   :)

Transformers 3 apparently already has a release date set, July 1, 2011.
