I saw they had a clip from Revenge of the Fallen on the MTV Movie Awards last night, looked pretty cool.  We were watching the awards show because the wifey wanted to see the new teaser trailer for Twilight: New Moon, but they had clips from Transformers, GI Joe, and Harry Potter as well.

A few new TV spots are online, with some new footage shown.  You can see a little more of the transformation of the constructicons as well.  SuperHeroHype (the above link) also has some facts about the movie, including that there were 14 ILM robots for the first movie, and 46 this time around.

How the hell is anybody supposed to get to know 46 different robot characters in a 2-hour film?  Seems like a blatant "Michael Bay wants his cut of the toy profits" move to me.  I read somewhere that his percentage of toy sales is the highest of any movie director besides George Lucas.

Bay gets a cut of the toy sales?  That's odd.

Do you have the link handy?

That's a lot of ******' scratch.  I didn't know he was getting a cut on the Hasbro toy sales, though.  That seems kind of ridiculous to me.  It's not like he created these characters like Lucas did for his films.

Did Peter Jackson get a cut from ToyBiz for the LOTR figures?  Will Sommers get one for GI Joe?

Bay did redesign the robots.  That may mean he holds the rights to the designs, and as a result gets a portion of the toy money.  Otherwise they probably couldn't use his versions of the characters.  Plus, I'm sure Hasbro is appreciative of the money he's delivering by making these films.

I call shenanigans on that. I don't believe it. He'll be back. (If he ever truly leaves)

Bah, I don't understand why he'd even listen to the critics. His movies make plenty of money.

And with his sizable cut from Hasbro for the toys, well I'm just saying if it were me, it would be damn hard to walk away from that kind of money.
I'm just a humble collector trying to make his way through the universe...of toy aisles.

I wonder if he's just thinking out loud there. The payday he got from the first TF flick is more than some people get when they win the Powerball, so he can't possibly be looking to let go of this opportunity.

Looking forward to the headache! I know it's not going to be a masterpiece, but 2 1/2 hours of big ******* robots beating the **** out of each other is just fine by me.   8)

Just got home.  LOVED it!  The opening part was maybe a little slow but about 30 minutes in it starts kicking you in the ass and the next 2 hours fly.
