Psyclonetrooper's Customs : Update 10/3 Tower Gun
« on: September 27, 2007, 02:41 PM »
It's been quite a while since I posted here.  There is some great work on this board. I thought I'd start a thread with some of my stuff.

My latest is first and under that will be a few I've done over the years.

Update : 10/3

Tower Gun - I applied some plating and pieces to the gun and gave it a prime coat. Still a lot of work to be done.

Imperial Commandos -

Inspired by Republic Commando and Ghost Recon I wanted to design a squad of commandos that would be a crossover from the Old Republic to the Empire.  So, these Imperial Commandos were born.

These guys were cobbled together in a couple of days.  The hardest part was trying to stop myself from overdoing it.  I'm always tempted to add more or redesign the figure the longer I look at it.  I'm sure they'll change soon. Anyway, here is what they look like now.

1. Commander -

Helmet - AT-AT Driver, Clone Commander visor, Death Star Gunner antenna.
Torso - 30th Anniversary Stormtrooper
Legs - #41 Clone Trooper
Backpack - Scorch, misc accessories, Mark IV sentry patrol droid from POTF2 Cantina diorama.
Hip holster and pistol - Clone Commander
Hip pouch - Scout Trooper
Rifle - Marauder Inc's E-11
Rank Badge - Commander Cody
Belt gizmo - Clone Pilot

 2. Sniper -

Helmet - AT-AT Driver,  Death Star Gunner antenna
Torso - 30th Anniversary Stormtrooper
Legs - #41 Clone Trooper
Backpack - Snowtrooper
Ammo pouch - Sandtrooper
Hip holster and pistol - Scout Trooper ankle holster and blaster
Thermal Detonators - Clone Trooper belts
Rifle - IG-88 with some Joe scope.

3. Heavy Ordinance / Explosives Tech -

Helmet - AT-AT Driver,  Death Star Gunner antenna
Torso - 30th Anniversary Stormtrooper
Legs - #41 Clone Trooper
Backpack - Scorch
Rifle - POTF2 Stormtrooper blaster with Scorch's anti-armor attachment added.
Ammo - Scorch

4. Tech -

Helmet - AT-AT Driver,  Death Star Gunner antenna, Jango Fett range finder
Torso - 30th Anniversary Stormtrooper
Legs - #41 Clone Trooper
Backpack - Sandtrooper (modified)
Rifle - Marauder Inc's E-11
Wrist Computer - Some GI Joe
Leg Gadget - I forget.

Imperial Gun Tower -

This has been a work in progress now for some time.  Here is what I have so far.

If you want to see more images of this I created a thread in the RS Custom Diorama  section here : Imperial Tower Thread

Those Imperial commandos are VERY impressive customs and an excellent start, but I do think they could use a little more. I don't know, they're just too white and plain, maybe give each one its own unique paintjob, like the Delta Squad. I'll be interested in seeing your progress!  :)

The Palpatines are also very good, are the sitting and standing Palpatines the same custom in different positions?

The plain look is intentional.  I may give them a very mild wash to bring out some of the details in the armor and possibly a little more dirt wear, but not too much.  I fashioned them more after Omega Squad than Delta.  Being that the idea for these guys is a transitional phase into the OT stormtrooper uniforms they don't sport any individual paint markings though they do each have unique accessories to fit thier specialty.  In the future I may make some more like the Deltas.

No, they are two different figures but they do use similar parts.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

Great job on the commandos. Now if Hasbro made EU figs like these...
