Family Guy Star Wars
« on: June 4, 2007, 10:34 AM »
I think everyone has heard of the announcement by now, but Family Guy will be doing a 1 hour retelling of A New Hope as its season premiere next fall.  I just noticed this morning that JediInsider has the preview online that was shown at C4, for those of us who couldn't attend.  Looks pretty good.

I hope everyone got a chance to see it because it's now officially gone - Fox pulled it.

I wonder if this will show up as a BitTorrent or RapidShare file, anytime soon? I wasn't able to watch the clip, was planning on tossing it onto my iPod.

Yeah, I went to watch the clip again this morning, and saw it was taken down.  Hopefully it will show up elsewhere, I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

I liked the little preview, although I thought the briefcase gag was really, really weak. I'm hoping that R2-D2 can let go of the marijuana bag at some point. The "What if they come through a different door?" comment was hilarious.

Yeah, that was one of my favorite parts as well.  Its always funny when they can make fun of the "logic" of Star Wars.  I enjoyed the Alderaan comment by Peter/Han in the trash compactor as well.

I didn't care much for the Deal or No Deal reference either.  But I did get a kick out of the couch gag.

This is awesome. Can't wait for it to air. The Old Creepy Guy as Ben is little over-doing it though.

Well, the "limp lightsaber" crack was lifted from SpaceBalls... I think it's kind of lame that they had to borrow a goof from SpaceBalls, but Family Guy is notorious for that kinda stuff.
