R2-D2 Laptop?
« on: May 9, 2007, 02:58 AM »
As per our front page DPCI # from Target...  There's something called an R2-D2 Laptop coming.  Just one of those toys geared at young children for learning?  Something different?

When I first saw that listed this morning, the first thing I thought of was the Spider-Man/Batman/Superman style laptops I often see at Target.  Our nephews have the Batman one, and I think it has some educational-ish games on it.  Maybe this is the same type of thing, done up in R2/Star Wars style.

That would be my guess.  My niece has a barbie one and it has all sorts of learning games on it.
This is the way.

I have spoken.

Hmm, thanks for the images Jayson.

This might be a good learning tool for the preschooler - although nothing beats old fashioned flash cards and workbooks.

If the Artoo laptop is like those Spidey/Bats/Barbie, etc... things I'm getting one for my son. Maybe he'll leave my daughter's Barbie one alone. I have no problem with him playing with the thing (He's 2). I just can't stand the damn thing. That chick's voice gets annoying.

Found this today at Target for $19.99.  It looks really cool for kids and it's got a neato "try me" feature that shows R2 & 3PO talking about something.  Not sure what though as I was a bit embarrassed because it wouldn't shut up so I took off  :)
