Facial hair and YOU: what's your preference?

So what's your preference?  Do you have any facial hair, or do you prefer the clean shaven look?  Are you able to grow any or if you can, does it grow all splotchy?  And women, you're included, too.  How often do you have to wax the 'stache?  Do you like it when a man has facial hair?

I have a half-goatee...hell, I don't even know what it's called.  Just the soul patch and chin part of the goatee but no mustache.  Here's a small pic of me on our staff page.

I'd probably consider a full goatee, but the hair to the direct left and right of my mouth doesn't grow right.

Not a big fan of plain mustaches, though sometimes it's OK if it's accompanied by a soul patch (ie, Frank Zappa, but not so bushy).

I actually just shaved my beard off on Monday and now I'm back to the goatee.  I'm 29 and I've never been able to get the full goat as the facial hair on my chin still can't quite link up with me moustache....

I've been rockin a stache since I was 14 and I've tried shaving it off more than a few times, but it just always looks strange.  Kinda like if you grew up with your father having one, then one day he shaves it off and he looks like a totally different person.

Well now that I am practically bald and the head is shaved, for the most part.  Maybe a goatee...nah it would look pretty pathetic on me.  Plus, I am getting those damn silver/gray hairs in the beard.

I've got a beard... it's getting stupidly long at the moment.  I think I should probably trim it down.

my work requires that i shave before everyshift, but when i have a long strectch i usually grow out the soulpatch and a bit of a goatee but it doesnt really grow on the edges of my mouth. If i didnt work in fast food id probably be a permanent "scruffy looking nerf herder"

I have, at the moment, a beard.  I always have a goattee or beard, neatly trimmed.  My facial hair doesn't grow in extra dark or thick, but it's enough.  I also never shave completely and leave that "stubble" look.  Never had good skin and shaving doesn't help any, so I stay all sexy with the stubble.

Gf doesn't allow me to shave it...  Says I look better with facial hair and i tend to agree. 

Is a pube shaving thread long off?

What about a "freaky whisker" thread?  I've got one that's about the diameter of a low E guitar string.   All the others are normal looking, but this thing is just freaky.   I try to pull it out as often as possible...

as a college professor, i have a prerequisite beard, yes. closely trimmed. it goes well with my elbow-patched cardigans and my bubble pipe.

Clean shaven.  I could shave my face twice per day, which sucks.  If I could wake up tomorrow and never have to shave again, I'd be happy.

Normally just a goatee but alot of scruff. I hate being clean shaven. When I look in the mirror and see no fuzz at all I dont recognize myself.
Currently got a huge beard, but only because I am lazy, the girlfriend has not complained enough about it, my work does not have a policy against it, and er... I am lazy... oh wait I mentioned that...
