Nice collapse by the Lakers.

I think what pisses me off more is the lack of aggressiveness.  The whole reason they had a 24 point lead was they kept cuttting and attacking the rack.

I've watched more basketball over the last week than I probably have in the last year...good stuff for sure, especially that collapse/comeback last night.  Surely was the stuff of legend.  I've been pretty pissed off though thinking that there were rumors of Pierce coming to Minnesota instead of the way it went, granted there would have been no equivalent to Ray Allen on the team but it still torques me the wrong way that the Wolves could have been better than they have been

Oh...and if they don't draft OJ Mayo...I'm done with them

They may not get a chance to.  There's talk that the Heat may be interested in him at the No. 2 pick.

So is tonight the night for Boston?

All signs point to yes.

I guess that depends on what the NBA head office decides should happen :-\

Is it more exciting for the Celtics to win at home (it is not the storied Gahden, after all) or is it more exciting for them (or the Lakers) to win in a climactic game 7?   I'm guessing the sentiment for the Celtics big three dictates they get a win, since Kobe already has his and got the MVP, meaning they can be the team of destiny next year.

I used to try to avoid that type of thinking, and hope that the games were as "real" as they should be - but this year, I'm starting to wonder from time to time.  The wildly inconsistent officiating, particularly when it favors "ratings" or big market teams (at times) just adds fuel to the fire.  I told my wife before we watched Game 5 that the Lakers would win.  They weren't going to let a Lakers-Celtics match up get wrapped up that quickly.  I just really hope Boston can wrap it up tonight.

I know I'm being overly cynical, but I can't shake that feeling right now.  I should by all rights be ecstatic - it's been a very, very, very long time since the good guys in green won the whole thing.  They've been cursed since Len Bias.  And not that I don't think they don't have the talent to win, I've been impressed by how well Garnett, Pierce and Allen have played.  I think Rondo and Cassell have really stepped up.  Perkins is proving to be an important player too, much to my delight.  But I just can't get over how awful the reffing has been, favoring the Celtics in so many instances.  And it pains me to say that too, because I really do want to see the Celtics win.  I loathe and despise the Lakers and always have.  Yet I'm not convinced they should lose.

But I guess it's not over yet.  The Lakers could still win.  Even if they do though, I'm still going to have a bad feeling about the season aside from having the hated Lakers win.

How obvious was the foul by Kobe on Pierce in the final minutes of Sunday's game?  You know the one where he stole the ball from behind and ran down for the dunk?

Pretty much sealed the game - and was quite obviously a foul.

Well somebody in the head office has a hell of a sense of humor to humiliate the Lakers like that if this was scripted?

Well, I'm happy.  Confused, but 22 years of waiting and I'm happy.  Especially to come at the expense of the Lakers, that makes it all the more sweet.

Does McHale get another ring?

Probably yes.  But we won't know about it.  But I'm guessing Ainge is buying on the next fishing trip.

Lakers got smoked.  Congrats to the Celtics.

Hopefully they meet up again next year with a different outcome.   ;D

Just glad the 1998 Bulls held onto their record...though it would have been cool to have Kobe's name in the record book under the largest defeat in Finals history...
