No, it was merged into this one.

Just an admin note, since the "Clone Wars" section is now being used for the new Clone Wars 3D show, let's keep the talk of this wave in this (30AC) section for now...  ;)

Can we still discuss the AT-TE over there?   :P

Yes, because it is intended to be a part of the "new" Clone Wars cartoon line and not the "old" Clone Wars cartoon (like these are)...

(yes, I know - confusing  :-[)

Nice Job Chewie for beating Rune by 2 minutes! Rune, still many thanks for the post, let's give Justin the credit on this one!

Sweet wave, time to fodderize the older ones I already have.......or trade them off.

Re: Official Clone Wars Figures Pics
« Reply #52 on: January 30, 2008, 12:18 PM »
I don't mind... Rune can have credit... but it's really Sallah at RS who came through with these.  What a great surprise!

Onto figure discussion... what does everyone think based on these pics?

Here's my initial reaction...

Vader - I'm pretty sure there will be high demand for this beat up version of the Dark Lord, so I think this is a solid repack.  Wouldn't mind seeing a FU Stormie in this too, but this is ok.

Kenobi - A very nice looking figure, though his beard looks very full... almost like a blend of the Animated style in the face.  Hard to tell though with such a small pic.

Scuba Clone - To me, I don't like the concept of underwater battles in Star Wars. I don't really know why that is.  I still think this looks like a solid figure though.  I see it as some interesting custom fodder more than anything.

Sae Sae Tiin - He looks wicked with the helmet.  I might get an extra for custom fodder... glad to see they decided to make this one.

Padme - Hoochie Mama!  Looks a lot better than the one we saw in the Battle Pack last year.  Definite upgrade. I hope she has nice articulation.

Lancer Droid - Rock on!  Very cool Hasbro.  I'm so glad they're making this.  I want several.  Those droids are wicked.

Mon Calamari - Perhaps my favorite of the wave... I love this species!  Reminds me of Freelo.   :)  But really, this looks fantastic.  Count me in for about 5-6.

Quarren - Again, looks wonderful.  Will be nice to have a few of them square off against the Mon Cal or some clones.

Quad Cannon Clone - Looks good, but I'm not that interested in it.

Durge - Hard for me to tell, but this could be the same sculpt as we saw before, but with a new head... hopefully two heads to represent his demise in the comics.

Anakin - I can't tell if this is a new sculpt or not.

Overall... WOW!  I need to save some money for these because I want multiples.  And these are scheduled to be out in April!

Nice stuff overall. With the discovery of this image, what is really left for Hasbro to reveal/announce at Toyfair?

Granted, we haven't seen close up pics of these yet - but this brings to mind the reason why I'd really like to see a resculpted Admiral Ackbar.  Sculpts have come a long ways since the POTF2 days, we're due for a new one.  Anyways, back to the Clone Wars discussion ;).

2008 Wave 4?  Clone Wars 3D toys?  Indy 4?  Other Vehicles?  More from TFU?

Wave 4 & maybe 5 (they should be summer release not fall CW) and the rest of the comics packs and maybe the new evo sets.

Yeah, I'm thinking that we'll see at least another wave beyond this one (plus, better pics of this one), and then a big preview of the Clone Wars line.  We'll (finally) see the AT-TE, and probably some other vehicles, and most likely the Evolutions sets we've heard about this week.  We'll probably see some comic packs as well.  The way Hasbro has been talking in Q and A's (and not revealing anything on their site), it sounds like Toy Fair would be a big deal for them, but we'll see.  Everything so far has looked pretty good, but I have to say I kind of hope we see something OT at Toy Fair :).  Like we've discussed before, another example of Hasbro not breaking their own news.

SHIITE, now THAT'S a wave I'm looking forward too!

Clone Armored Obi! Sweet, put me down for one.
Scuba trooper! YES. 5 for me!
Clone Armored Saesee Tiin! Sweet, put me down for one of him as well.
Snowbunny Padme-hmmm, this one looks like it's better-note the possible knee articulation. I'll prolly get it, if it's a new fig.
IG-Lancer droid! YES. 5 for me!
Mon Cal Warrior. YES. 5 for me.
Quarren Soldier. YES. 5 for me!
Clone Heavy gunner (or whatever he's going to be called).  Sweet, put me down for one.

So that's 24 figs from one wave....whew, I'm glad I'm NOT massive army building any more. I could have easily seen me getting 10 scuba troopers, and 15-20 of the MonCals and Quarren.
I'm just a humble collector trying to make his way through the universe...of toy aisles.
