Thanks.  Does that mean I have a shot at it, albeit a tiny one?

Did you order direct from MR?

From reading the article on RS I did not get the impression that these helmets would only go to people who had orders cancelled.  I seriously doubt that eFX actually has that list.  They may be former MR employees, but I don't think that means that they get MR's client list.  They do mention something about forwarding on your MR cancellation email.  I don't think eFX will be able to prevent scalpers from getting this item.  Also, nearly 1,500 helmets were not made in the MR run, including the affiliate orders.

You are correct EdSolo. I read the same thing, so I'm not sure why I was thinking that. If you had an order canceled from MR, you simply send them your cancellation email and you will get first priority at ordering one of 500 helmets. If your order got canceled from an AD, you will have to try to get one when they go up for pre-order. I think the number 500 came from how many direct orders MR still had to fill after the initial 1048 they sent out. This was not including orders that AD's had with them, just individual customers.

Helmet is up for sale and not sold out after five minutes.  Yawn.

Looks like still 5-10% of whatever was available is still available.

It also seems EFX worked a deal with FedEx to reduce the shipping down from $30+ to $19, so a bit of a savings there.

Not really a thunderous start considering all the uproar over the MR failure to fulfill all the orders.  Did folks just go for the cheaper CE edition in the meantime?

I think it may be twofold.  People who wanted this item bad enough, purchased it through ebay before eFX made the annoucement that they would be making more.  Also, people are a lot more eager to preorder something that they can cancel later as opposed to having to pay $400 up front for something shipping in a few days.

I was a little surprised these didn't sell out at least in the first day. After the second day though, you kind of got the feeling that those that wanted one, had gotten one. The edition size was perfect. Had it been more, they would be sitting on these helmets for a while until they eventually put them on clearance which would have upset those of us that paid full price for them.

I'm glad they were able to get the shipping prices down for everyone too. I think if they would go with another shipper such as UPS or DHL, they would have even lower prices, but it is what it is. Looking forward to receiving mine.

I received #148 the other day. Of course, it's perfect. I'm looking forward to displaying both the Master Replicas version and the eFx version next to each other. I'm going to have one with the green lenses and one with the grey.

I'd love to, it's a beautiful piece, but it's way out of my price range.

I won a round of eFX Trivia a few weeks ago which got me free shipping, plus they have the payment plan option. That was the only way I was able to get one. I certainly didn't have $1200 to drop on this all at once. Now to figure out where the box will go.  :P

You're going to pay $1200 for something this nice and never take it out of the box?
This is the way.

No, no. I'll be taking it out for sure. I'll need some place to store the box though.

It might sit in the box for a little while until I can rearrange some things, but the other down side is that it does not come with a case. I'd really rather it not get dust all over it. I'll have to get a custom case made from someone local.

Look around online as well.  I picked up a custom case for one of my MR sabers that did not come with one.
