Death Star Trench scene direct from Lego!
« on: June 17, 2003, 02:36 PM »
Direct from Lego Shop at Home come these two eBay auctions for a pretty cool Death Star Trench scene, complete with several of the mini-Lego SW vehicles.  But is this thing really $600+ cool?!   :o  Apparently it is to some people!

Lego Shop at Home

"This is one of 2 exclusive models built especially for eBay Auction".

Only 2 made. Holy crap! These 2 puppys are going to go for some big bucks. Now thats an auction to watch.  8)

I wouldn't at all be surprised if these fetch over a grand each. I've noticed many other of the Lego Shop at Home auctions have gone in that range so I would expect these to as well.

Now why can't they ever release a set like this to retail stores? >:(

Because then they could only get $100, max for them :) IF that! lol

If I bought this set, I'd certainly hope it came with some documentation showing it was the official item; there doesnt look like there is too much that any LEGO collector could do with some extra bricks and a little time

Not worth the price.  If you have a creative mind anyone can build something like that.

if he really wants to, he can build it himself, since the instructions are online. I can't believe people were willing to pay more than $100 for those death star scenes. The reason i even put the price cap on there is because it would prolly cost that much to get all the unique pieces and such. Some people don't know how to spend money. On the other hand,  i noticed 2 nobodies won the auction... I wonder if someoen did that on purpose with some fake accounts...

The auctions have ended.
This one went for $860.00.  Death Star MINI-Model Scene #1
This one went for $810.00.   Death Star MINI-Model Scene #2

The worst thing is, they were bought by Zero Feedback Bidders!
Check the bidders history on the auctions. I don't think they are actually going to get there $$$$.

I highly doubt LEGO will get their money too.  They should have stated a policy so that you would have to have at least 10 or 20 positive feedback to bid on those.  Poor LEGO.  Whatcha gonna do?

$1,400 = 3 months rent for me. I'd rather have a place to live than a stack of plastic in the form of Jango.  :P

It would still be cool though Cory.  You didn't have to stick your tongue out at me like that.   ;)
