Where's the Hutt? I hope more Hutts gets Hasbro to give us a proper Jabba.

No pics of the figures yet, and Rotta is a baby Hutt.

Oh! So THAT is what that little green blob was with the Lego pic circulating around...

There are many, many spoilers out there for the first episode.  Apparently, in the first (or an early) episode...

POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW
.
.
.
.

Capt. Rex, Obi-Wan, Anakin and his Padawan Ahsoka are all sent on a mission to rescue little baby Rotta the Hutt, who is somehow related to Jabba.

Yeah, I don't get it either...  ???

But, knowing that, it would make sense to inclue the baby Hutt with her I guess.

A baby Hutt sounds cool.  But related to Jabba?  Too convenient.  The galaxy is big enough for more Hutts than Jabba's family...

Rumored to be Jabba's son.

Rumored to be Jabba's son.

IF that were true then that would make Jabba a FEMALE as of that time.

As well all know (or should), Hutts are asexual in a sense. They start life exhibiting traits of being a male and continue along that path. However once they decide to have a baby, they change their physiology to become female (a real world thing as well, so it's not fiction). Once a Hutt does this however, they cannot revert back to being a male and remain female for the rest of their lives.

This was in one of the novels or tales of books. I just can't recall which one. In the book it was a different Hutt, but the same principle would be applied to Jabba as well since ther eis no differentiation between Hutts and their physiologies.

So again if Rotta is Jabba's son, then as of the OT, Jabba is FEMALE!

Well, that whole thing about the Hutt's sexuallity is new to me.  And yucky.  And it's the kind of EU thing that I hope Lucas just ignores.  What's cannon, and what's not cannon ,are not really important to me, as long as the story is good.

Correct up until the last sentence. Hutts are all hermaphroditic and are able to self-fertilize--although one would assume that proper mating would be preferable since it combines genetic material. But they can switch back and forth between male and female more or less at will.

Well, that whole thing about the Hutt's sexuallity is new to me.  And yucky.  And it's the kind of EU thing that I hope Lucas just ignores.

Why? There are several real-world creatures that are hermaphroditic (banana slugs can self-fertilize) and there are others that can switch genders if needed (you saw Jurassic Park, right? ;)). So this is not outside the realm of plausibility, particularly in SW.

That all having been said ... I hope Rotta is Jabba's cousin or something and not his son, simply because his family tree is so crowded already and there's really no storytelling room for a son that didn't appear in any source before or since.

I don't really care for the design of that Jedi for some reason.

Same here Chew. I don't know why all the female Jedi now have to wear these asinine leather bikini getups. No Jedi in their right mind would go into battle (or, presumably, into public ::)) showing that much skin.

What's wrong with the good old robes Jedi used to wear back in the day?

heh, nice Nathan.

well, I don't mind so much. I like skin...

Shaak Ti and Luminara looked too much like nuns to me. Instead of a ruler coming at you to swat your hands, they've got lightsabers...

Looks interesting, but I'm not digging this Hutt continuity. Has Lucasfilm forgotten about Zorba?
