If the size is too far off, we can just think of it as a previously-unseen variant midway between the dwarf spider droid and that big one, so it's not a big deal to me.

Well regardless of the scale the thing looks cool!  I always that since AOTC.  That and the AT-TE will be nice sitting in my home :)

This is freakin' cool and a VERY welcome addition to my AOTC diorama. The Homing Spider droid was my most wanted CIS droid of what was left to be produced. Thanks Hasbro! I'l get 3-4 of them.

Now my next most wanted CIS droid is the Tank Droid (looks like a snail), then the Droid Gunship.

Oh and anyone notice the Padme EVOLUTIONS set in the background???

One NEW figure in that set for sure, though I can't quite see which one it is. Definitely a Geonosis dressed Padme in that set too.

Quite an impressive vehicle. When I first saw a picture I thought it was a movie still. I'm in for 2 of these highly detail suckers.

This picture

(taken form the movie-a matte painting IIRC) shows a version of the Homing Spider droid that is about the same size as the AATs. So given that, the toy IS very darn near to scale.

I'm cool with the size of this. Yes it could be bigger, not the sphere part, just the legs. Who knows, maybe in 30 years we'll get a large legged Homing spider droid as we did a large winged TIE fighter, heh heh.

Now is this thing in the $20 range or close to it?  I assume it is.  Just wondering.

I'd agree with the picture if that was the intent, however with a matte painting, the AAT could very well be substantially closer in that shot than the Spider Droids...

Don't get me wrong on that Sal, I'm really one to quickly accept the "varying sizes" on droids, so I'm not against your idea, just pointing out that the depth of the image can skew the scale by a margin.  AAT's aren't big though, so I agree that could be pretty close then.

No worries Jesse. I thought of that too. To me it looks like they are just about in the same position. We'd have to ask the artist which were in front...heh heh.

I'm surprised it took this long for hasbro to make this. Looks like it came out well and will be a welcome addition to my federation battle group.

Yes, both the Spider Droid and the V-19 are in the $20 vehicle assortment.
