Daunte Culpepper is done.

They spent a 1st rounder on Rogers to eventually replace Favre - and that's exactly what's going to happen if he does indeed stay retired.  Talk about big shoes to fill...

That is putting it mildly. It really doesn't matter who the quarterback is in Green Bay for the next 10 years or so. They will forever be compared to Favre (justly or unjustly). It will be similar to what happened to Steve Young when Montana left the 49ers.
I have been told to go to hell; well at least I will know everyone there!

That's not the best example considering that Steve Young went on to win a Superbowl.

More accurate would be what happened to Brian Griese after John Elway.

And Plummer... And Cutler... It isn't going away anytime soon until someone else around here wins a Super Bowl.

I don't think we've ever had a situation where the player who has defined the team pretty much by himself for double digit seasons is now gone.  I think Rogers is ready to take on the starting role based on what we saw of him this season.  If he can maintain the same level of play or better this year, the Packers will be just fine.

Agreed.  Rogers has had every advantage imaginable thus far.  Plenty of time to learn before being throw to the wolves, and one of the all-time great QB's to learn from.

If he's going to succeed, we'll probably know in the first year or two.

Well said...I sometimes wonder if the only thing that would make Broncos fans happy would be if Elway returned.

Pretty fitting that your avatar is from "No country for old men."   ;)  I will definitely miss Favre's enthusiasm and wild play.   :-\

I haven't really seen anything about the Giants keeping players or any likely changes to the roster...other than Coach Coughlin getting a 5-year deal.  I'm curious if Strahan will come back or not.

Saw on the NFL Network last night that the Jets have signed a deal with Bubba Franks.  They're pulling in some good players.

Ha!  He's a great player - enjoy his non catches all next season.

Word here is that he may be their back-up.

Draft starts tomorrow.

Obviously we already know who #1 is.

I'm curious to see if the Bears stick to their plan of grabbing an OT in the first round.  Probably a wise decision.  We need as much help as we can get in regards to protecting our star QB's.

Hopefully we can find a decent RB later in the draft.  Benson has gots to go and Wolfe is too small.
