Well you missed the first week but I've no idea whether you can still sign up or not.  Shouldn't be a huge deal missing a single week so unless Yahoo has locked people out by default, come on in:

Disappointing - I saw the thread title and just thought this was a golf discussion thing - I'd have signed up a long time ago if I'd realized.

You're only out by one tournament as it stands Rob.  I think you can still join, so do it if you like.  Trust me, by the end of the season one tournament will be a pretty small amount of points.

So how's it work, everyone gets to pick anyone from the tournament each time and the idea is to just guess who's going to do the best at a given event?

When you get in there and look (if you haven't already) you'll see players are grouped into three categories: A, B, C.

You pick two from A, four from B and two from C for each tournament.

Once you select those four guys you are stuck with them for that tournament (but can change them up the following week).

You play one from A, two from B and one from C for each round.

You can only use a player 10 times throughout the season so you have to choose wisely because you cannot simply pick Mickelson, Woods, Singh and other top performers for every week.  It's like hockey in that sense, once the magic number of games is used up, they're not even in existence for you anymore.

Beware whether or not guys are actually playing.  If you pick players on Sunday prior to the tournament you may find they aren't even in the tournament.  Best to check on Wednesday night to make sure your guys are eligible.  I've had guys drop out for odd reasons last year at the last minute too - illness, family problems, drug problems :-X

LMK if you have other questions.  max_one get in there too please, the more the merrier.

Well, I've signed up and set a 'roster' for the week.  I'm confident that (pending any serious beginners luck) I'll be finishing near the bottom of the barrel - but what the hell, I'll give it a try.

Wow, overanalyzed my player choices through the weekend.  Should have stood pat and I'd have had a lot more points.

I'm not a huge golf fan but I think this year one big gig is coming to the Pittsburgh area's Oakmont Country Club.  It's right near my house...  Do any of you follow it enough to know what I'm talking about?  Bobafett14 lives right like 2 minutes from it.  This area is known for being a bit of a golf haven...  I'm not a golfer myself, but it's something I'd kind of like to try out.
