Steampunk Star Wars by Sillof
« on: July 29, 2008, 08:46 AM »
I have never posted here before.  My dioramas were displayed as the last 3 Celebrations as I helped run the Diorama Workshops.

Here is a newer line of custom figures I did where I attempted to recreate the star wars universe in my favorite style and aesthetic - a kind of clunky industrial Victorian setting.  Here are the 2 lines. The first was in last months SW Insider.   I am working on Return of the Jedi and I am shooting for it to  be the best of the line.  These are 6 inches in scale.

There are more pics on my site, www.sillof.com , as well as rotating 360 degree gifs.

Thanks

Those are amazing!

The Boba Fett, Dengar, and Snowtroopers are my faves.

That would make a great comic or anime.  Just doing the straight stories, in that style.

Nice Work.

Really? Looking at these customs gives me more of a Final Fantasy feeling. The stormies look very similar to the knights from FFXII.

Great customs man ;D

Did you sculpt these?  Or are they kit-bashed from something?  They give a wonderful unique look to something that feels very familiar.

The stark basic design of IG-88 makes a bold statement.

These are probably the most unique star wars figures I've seen in a very long time. I love the detail scroll work. It's like if Jules Vern imagined the star wars universe. Every one of them were instantly recognizable with their star wars doppelganger. I wonder what Jabba is going to look like.

I thought I would post my new revisioned characters of Star Wars in a Victorian Setting.  I have posted the A New Hope & Empire lines here in the past.  They are on my site.

He is only 3.5 inches tall as opposed to the rest of the line which is 6"

This is meant to be Wedge, but the head comes of and I can put my ANH Luke head on it

Thanks and hope you like them.

I have ALOT of your Art as a screensaver on my work PC, I am always getting remarks about how interesting /unique your art is.  ROTJ holds up to your prior work and then some. absolutely beautiful, ALL characters are recognizeable (with some eye squinting that is!
u REALLY had me for a sec on Bib:0)).

The detail on all of the imps is.....WOW! The speeder bike now, thts just a work of art.  love the use of parts and detailing; SWmeetsDRWho.

The mon cal bugs me though; boots?  maybe Mon Cal style feet with some pretty anklet baublles?

SalCrumb....justy nasty! LOL

Sir Luke just tops it all off; King Palpy just secretes bold British might.

The slave (cann-cann girl) Leia is gorgeous!  im a sucker for knickers.  ((Like Kiddman in "Far and Away"))  '"Plunge and scrub'"

always a pleasure to c ur updates

I'm sooooo diggin' the Royal Guards they look bad ass in red.
Love scouts but the Propeller Bike takes the cake very cool.
Leia. Wow!  What else can be said.
Bib, Crumb, Jabba all blend well with the rest of your previous work and are absolutely amazing.
Wedge, very cool but I'd have used that head for a Biggs just cause of the mustache but awesome all the same.
Luke, he almost looks too bad ass compared to his movie counterpart.
Emporer I like him but I think you should've gone more the way of sickly looking maybe even as far as giving him green skin.
Ackbar I've never really liked the character but it doesn't take away from how cool your custom is.
Ewok now these look like they could take out "an entire legion of my best troops"

I'd love to see Han in carbonite block, and maybe even Oola, definately a Gamorean.

Awesome job as usual.

This really should be featured on Starwras.com. I think it's an awardable take on the SW universe. You should send your pics of all three sets to starwars.com, specifically Mary Franklin.

It's such a different take on the characters.

Extremely well thought out and executed.

Kudos!
