So after my latest bitch-fest I woke up to find Sizemore on the DL too.

Kind of glad you rejected that Sizemore for Sabathia deal in April.  I guess that evens out the Hanley for Cabrera/Rollins thing last year.

I officially don't have enough hitters to fill a line-up and would have to start dropping pitchers for available guys just to get the games played.

Been there.  Finished 5th.

Yeah, might have been helpful at this point to have gone forward.  If Sizemore can come back and play like he's supposed to for the rest of the year it might not end up being a bad move still.  What do you mean on the Hanley Cabrera/Rollins thing last year though... didn't Cabrera have the best finish out of any of those guys?  Ramierez was okay but not as awesome as he was in the first half of the season.

At this rate I'd be lucky to finish 5th in a 5-team league.   :-[

Yeah looking at the split stats for last year, Cabrera was pretty good after June.

Rollins not so much.

Hanley was good all year round.

It actually wasn't so bad.  You're right, passing on Sabathia for Sizemore is actually worse at this juncture.  We'll see when Sizemore comes back.

Okay I gotta go all Cliff Lee on Zach Duke.

He sucks.

And he doesn't suck because he's a Pirate.  He sucks because he sucks.

I don't care what his first 10 starts look like this year.  Here's a guy who after 110 career starts thus far has an opponent's Batting Average Against at .300

Zach Duke blows chunks and if you put him in your starting rotation your team will blow chunks too.

Hey Sith's Sox, if you could go ahead and do me a solid and, like, stop scoring points in the standings and stuff, that'd be great.

I'll keep it brief and let you go get started on that.

Looks like I'm not the one you need to be worrying about any more...

AAAAAAAANNNNNDDDDDDD... Peavy to the DL.  Early word is that he's out 8 to 12 weeks.

****.  >:(

Seriously, I've got an entire All Star roster on the disabled list.  Votto, Bartlett, Quentin, Ramirez, Peavy, and Sizemore - all out, and all except Peavy have been out for weeks.  This is after Lance Berkman's bum wrist and **** season, losing Percival, having Kuroda all messed up, and being without McCann for a month because of a bad contacts prescription.

I officially resign.   :'(

Just Venting:  I'm not sure I want to look tomorrow morning for todays cummulative stats.  It was an UGLY, DISGUSTING, FRUSTRATING (I can go on but I'll stop) day from both a batting and pitching perspective for my team.  I have no excuses and can't blame anything on injuries.  My team seems to be slowing down and slumping.   :'(

Net result for your team after yesterday's action:

+ 0.5 and a move into 2nd place.

Never expect anything to happen like you think it will.  Baseball just isn't the same as any of the other sports.

No doubt guys.  Managing a team is not so easy, and at least for me, I've had some luck and breaks come my way.  I'm starting to see the season (long one at that) is going to be comprised of a lot of ups and downs.  I just hope more ups then downs.

Need a power hitter?

The likes of Carlos Pena, Nelson Cruz, and even Albert Pujols are on the block for a speedy hitter who hits for average, or a top notch pitcher in the order or Greinke, Lincecum, Haren, or Halladay-ish types.

Any interest in Jake Peavy?  I'm not sure if he's too damaged to have any value or if he'll be back strong after the break, but he could be available.

Still interested in Sizemore?

Probably not on Peavy, maybe on Sizemore, he may fit the bill.

Let me scope your squad and I'll hit you back.
