Matty-

I'd say you're probably going to hate this one if you didn't like the first one and I'd guess for the same reasons.  POTC2 is just as long and does get bogged down in parts.  I absolutely loved the first one and really enjoyed the second one, but still thought the first was the better of the two.

The first one was better than this one?!

Well, that just about seals it for me, then.

Thanks, Mikey.

I loved the first one, absolutely hated the second one. No chance in the world of liking the second one if you didn't care for the first.

Just under $1 million to go (that should only be another day) and Dead Man's Chest will pass Sith and move into #7 all-time - $381 million!  I knew this thing was going to be a big blockbuster summer movie, but I can't say I was expecting these kind of numbers.    :o

It will be interesting to see where it ends up after all is said and done.  Spiderman ($403 million) is still well within reach (especially if it keeps up the $10+ million weekends), but will it have the legs to make a run at The Phantom Menace ($431 million) or ET ($435 million)?

What Pirates can learn from Jedi

While the Ewoks didn't ruin 'Jedi,' I can assure you I didn't shed any tears when a few of them bit it fighting Storm Troopers.

I could have done without the Ewok dance party...

See, I'm not the only one.  Though I was probably a little more overjoyed at the demise of Ewoks (too few) than the author of that article.

Well, POTC2 passed Spider-Man over the weekend locking it in at #6 all-time at the US Box Office.

I still don't know if it can reach TPM at #5.  $24 million is a lot of ground to cover, and the weekend totals are now down to around $4millon.  Still, $400 is amazing!

Since they've already got POTC3 done, can we assume that POTC4 is a lock to get made now?   :P

Not that this will come as a surprise to anyone, but there is a planned box set to be released next Holiday season with all three movies entitled the Ultimate Pirates Collection.  I just finished a survey on the DVD release of the Black Pearl (and gave them grief for charging extra for the bonus disc) and this was indicated at the end when they asked how likely I was to purchase said boxed set (very unlikely).  If I'd owned only a single movie and not two of three already, I'd be more inclined.  Not that I shouldn't have expected said boxed set but we didn't feel like waiting for it.
