I am no longer miffed by the "re-released" figures w/ new vinyl capes if they are all as cool as Kenobi.

Excellent photo Symposium. Ben looks fantastic and quite impressed with the detail on the Landspeeder.

After seeing this photo, I'm almost 100% positive that one of the chases will be a telescoping lightsaber version of Kenobi.  I'm sure the other will be the Mos Eisley Millenium Falcon landing platform version of Boba Fett from the cut scene... :P

That Ben is sweet.  Hope the rest of this wave looks as cool.

Sorry no more pictures :( I found it on a random Japanese forum and it linked back to a website that only had the one photo.

I suspect we'll have an update on the Medicom site on the 23rd though ;)

What is the thing next to Ben on the left?

That's the floating droid that they added to the scene in the special edition, I believe. There was also one included in the lego set with the sand speeder.

Yes now I recognise it. With it being in the picture next to Ben I couldn't place it. In the other smaller picture of DX3 you can see the Sandtrooper is next to Ben.

So I guess that's what makes the DX3 Sandtooper different from the rest/the other black pauldron sandy.

Was it added to the SE versions or was it there in the original too?

I remember that being a pack-in with the POTF2 Cantina set that had the cardboard background and came with the Sandtrooper, hooking into the figure's shoulder with a clear plastic support.  I can't remember when it came out so it could be just from the SE but might have been in the original movie as well.

I did check the copy of the original film that I have on my computer before posting that and I didn't see it, so I think it's just in the SE.

Cool.  I couldn't remember when the POTF2 set came out - it easily could have been at the time the SEs came out or after.

Very awesome, much cooler than the Hoth wave in my opinion.

Have we had any other releases that have been inspired by the special editions of the OT?

*edit*

Just as I posted I remembered The Max Rebo Band boxset had Doda Bodonawieedo (I totally remembered how to spell that and didn't google it :P )
