I received today what may be the last modern MOTU figure I ever buy. BBTS has She-Ra in stock for about $18, so I went ahead and bought one.

It's too bad Mattel didn't take the same care to the regular line as they did to the exclusives, since this is a really nice figure, and I'm not that big of fan of She-Ra (after all, her cartoon killed MOTU back in the day.)

If Keldor or Faker come down in price, I might eventually get them, but I'm sure there will be a snowball fight in Hell before that happens.

Thats cool man, I enjoyed She-Ra. I am trying to get my hands on a Randor. No luck though.  :-[

If I knew that Randor would be available at retail or online somewhere for $20, I'd be buying the stactions. If they'd come out and say "Randor will be available in wave 4" I'd pick up the first wave while I can.
But I don't want ANOTHER MOTU line I have no hope of completing.

Anyway, the cover art for Season 1 Vol. 1 of the original MOTU cartoon.

Well, like a sucker, I bought the first wave of stactions. I figured I really wasn't interested in owning Randor.

And it looks like someone's figured out how to make the stactions into proper action figures:

Hordak

Clawful

Snout Spout

I finally bought a Snake Armor He-Man from a seller in the Phillipines. It cost $14 plus $9 shipping. It should be here in a couple weeks.

Now I hope it doesn't break on me or anything.  ::) :)  This seller also had a bunch of the goofy repaints that I'll probably end up buying. For some reason, I like that Ice Armor Skeletor and Trap & Smash Orko.

I finally received that Snake Armor He-Man today. I'm tempted to buy another to do that paintwash trick I love so much, since this figure has a lot of detail that needs to be brought out.

That pretty much does it for my MOTU figure collection. There's a bunch of variants I don't have, but I'm not going to spend $20 each and wait a  month for international shipping.

Guess I'll put that money into the stactions now.  :-\

I was pretty sad to see the line go, and being in Canada I'll never see the stactions (Hordak looks awesome).  The one figure I was pretty sad to not get was Zodac - he was one of my first motu figures back in the day.  I've thought about going the ebay route now that the prices have come down a bit, but with the line being dead the enthusiasm just isn't there.

Saw the second series of stactions at Sam Goody last night.

Man, Stinkor would have been the coolest action figure in the line, with Grizzlor in the top ten.

******* Mattel.

Great. More con exclusives.

The .org's front page declares that an Evil-Lyn in classic colors will be the staction exclusive, while a wave of mini-busts will also be available.

I think the Evil-Lyn is a little lame, but I sure wouldn't turn down the opportunity to purchase one.  :)

Is there a reason why Mattel never did Hordak?

He was my favorite figure from back in the day and would've made sense in the Snake Men sub line....

Mostly, the line didn't last long enough. He showed up in one of the last episodes of the cartoon and had a staction figure and a bust, but no action figure.

I have the staction thing, and it's great. He'd have been an even better toy, possibly one of the best in the line.

I always like Hordak too.  He was one of the coolest looking bad guys.
