Series 6 stactions

Mosquitor

Jitsu

Battle Armor He-Man

For once, I actually like the He-Man variant better than the individual characters. I think this He-Man variant is the only one that ever made any sense.

And here's wave 5, just in case you hadn't seen them yet.

Ssssqueeze (seriously), Evil-Lyn, and Rio Blast.

Man, I have to say it again- these would have been awesome toys.

Ok, does anyone know what this is?  Looks pretty cool, regardless.  From what I've read no one knows so far, and it isn't labeled at SDCC (although it sounds like it is in Mattel's booth).  There is some speculation that it could be part of an anniversary type line, along the lines of the Joes, Transformers Classics, etc.  Its all just guesses now, but that would be pretty cool.  I also see in this thread at ActionFigureInsider shows that there is a nice vintage display of MOTU at SDCC as well.

Oh my gentle jesus. Maybe Mattel has something up their sleeve after all.

A few weeks ago, they announced they'd have this big panel at SDCC, and I doubted that it was for the 200x series DVD release.

Hopefully they show more this weekend.

From what I read this weekend, it sounds like nothing more was said about the He-Man that was shown at Comic Con.  There are rumors that it might be possible to see a new line in 2008 though.  If they were done in that style, I think I'd have to pick up at least a few.  There's just too much good stuff on the way these days, its hard to know where to spend the money ;).

I'm kind of disappointed that Mattel hasn't said anything about that He-Man prototype. Leave it to them to build up a buzz and not go anywhere with it.

As much as I'd like to see MOTU back on the shelves, I'm really not up for all the drama that came with the last attempt. It appears from the DCSH line they STILL haven't figured it out yet. If it was a limited anniversary line, I'd be up for it, but an ongoing line? I'd have to think about that one.

I suppose we'll hear more at either Wizard World Chicago soon or Toy Fair next year.

You're exactly right Ben - I'm surprised that Mattel created all this buzz by showing the He-Man figure, and then not mention it again.  Hopefully we'll hear something more about it soon.  I'm with you in almost hoping that its just a limited "anniversary" type of line.  I can't afford to go too nuts with another line, but if it were a handful of figures in the style of the He-Man, I'd be in for it.  I was actually kind of hoping for it. :)  Just as well, like there isn't enough to spend money on already.

Faker and Kobra Khan mini statues are on the way, exclusive two pack from Shop AFX available later next month.  Kind of cool, and it really is too bad that the modern Masters line didn't do so well (or wasn't marketed/packed so well).  They really did have a neat style.  As much as I don't need another line to collect, I kind of hope that He-Man figure shown at Comic Con leads to a new line in the future - an anniversary-style line. :)

I saw this question posted in the latest Mattel Q and A, maybe some encouraging news to the future of MOTU:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Figures: There's no denying fans want more Masters of the Universe. What would it take for Mattel to bring the toy line back?

Mattel: We ask that fans for just a little bit more patience as we finalize the details. Typically, it takes 12-18 months for toys to go from concept to toy shelf. As for MOTU, we are absolutely working on it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm kind of hoping that we're getting a new "commemorative" line in the style of the He-Man that was glimpsed at Comic Con.  I think I'd probably be in for at least some of that, depending on price/availability and all of that.
