Hasbro's Diorama Contest!
« on: November 5, 2009, 11:02 PM »
Hasbro's Star Wars: The Clone Wars Diorama Contest has reached its next step, and Hasbro has picked the top 5 finalists for your voting pleasure.  Head Out & Vote!

Or at the very least get a look at some awesome work done by some talented folks.  Ironically not one Clone Wars Diorama unless you count the Felucia one.   :-X

Here's a look at the 5, and there's more pictures at Hasbro's voting site.

I have my opinions on which I consider the best...  It's a real tough choice though once I narrow it down to like 3.  One of them may be Dago-Bah's too I think (Bespin Carbon Freeze?).

I voted for the Freeze chamber. All are well done, and I love the concept and inclusion of the gag one, but the Carbon Freeze chamber is just so good that if it wasn't for the figures, I'd think these were stills of the set.

Is it just me or does one of those seem oddly out of place?

I like the comedic value of the Sith Reunion, but it doesn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the selections. (IE: not a recreated scene from one of the films)

I had to vote for Bespin Carbon Freeze. Thos pics are like looking at still shots right from the movie. The attention to detail is amazing, especially the lighting. Hoth Hangar was a close second.

The choices are all really excellent.  The Felucia, Tusken Camp and Bespin Chamber are all very, very well done.  The detail on the Felucia dio are insane but the Bespin Chamber is just over the top.  That's the one I ended up voting for just because there's so much detail and accuracy to the film version.

I went with the Bespin Freezing Chamber as well, but the others are fantastic too.

Same here.  I like them all, but that one is a level beyond the others IMO.  My second would have been Echo Base.

There are some very creative and talented people out there.  Not at easy choice!  But ultimately I chose the Hoth one simply because of its sheer size and my own Rebel hangar display is one of my favourites.

My voting is down to two, the Bespin Freeze Chamber and the Felucia set up.  I've seen the Felucia set and the guy sculpted every plant by hand, so that's going a long way with me.  The Bespin Freeze Chamber's lighting was very complex though, if it's who I believe it is, and it's so beyond accurate it's scary.

I liked the Tusken camp as well but I didn't notice a hole in the hut for Anakin to sneak into it so that's bugged me.

The other two sets are nice but are mostly foamcore construction I'm seeing.  Not all though, but especially the Sith set...

So I'm down to the two I mentioned, and not sure which to vote for right now.

I gotta go with the Bespin Dio.  As others have mentioned the lighting and execution are awesome.  I love the level of detail in the overhead machinery.  That said, all of the rest are awesome too, really amazing work!

For me it was between the Felucia one and the Bespin one, but I had to go with the Bespin one. It's just amazing and I don't think I've seen anything like it before. Felucia dioramas are everywhere though, even though this one looked pretty awesome.

I did like the funny Sith one though....lots of funny little details in there. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I coulda sworn it said no lighting in the rules.

Bespin freezing chamber. NICE!  :D I liked the Sith reunion, but I though it could have kept with the realistic-styled figures only, though.
